Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
Engagement Manager roles must meet the DOL's specialty occupation standard. Gather documentation showing your degree directly relates to client engagement, project delivery, or consulting work, not just general business. A mismatched credential is the most common LCA stumbling block.
Target consulting and professional services firms
Management consulting, IT services, and Big Four advisory firms file LCAs regularly for Engagement Manager roles and have established E-3 visa sponsorship workflows. Approaching these employers means less internal education about the visa process and faster offer-to-filing timelines.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces Engagement Manager jobs from employers with active E-3 and LCA filing history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored an Australian professional before.
Clarify sponsorship before final offer negotiation
Ask your recruiter whether the company has filed an LCA for this role before the offer stage, not after. Employers unfamiliar with the E-3 sometimes confuse it with H-1B visa sponsorship, which creates delays once you've accepted.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA
The LCA must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer doesn't need to manage the process internally or engage a separate immigration attorney.
Prepare for consular nonimmigrant intent questions
Engagement Manager roles involve long-term client relationships, which consular officers sometimes flag when assessing ties to Australia. Bring documentation of Australian professional memberships, property, or family ties to support your nonimmigrant intent at the interview.
E-3 Visa Engagement Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Engagement Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Engagement Manager roles from employers with E-3 filing history. Filtering by sponsorship readiness saves you from approaching companies that have no experience with the visa, which is the most common reason offers fall through for Australian applicants at this level.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Engagement Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, management, or a related discipline. Roles where any degree is acceptable regardless of field are harder to qualify. Your employer needs to demonstrate the degree-job nexus in the LCA filing, so the job description wording matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Engagement Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, so you can apply at any point in the year and receive a decision at your consulate appointment. H-1B registrations for Engagement Manager roles go into a random lottery with no guarantee of selection. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers after starting work on an E-3 as an Engagement Manager?
You can change employers, but each new position requires a fresh LCA and a new E-3 visa stamp or change of status before you start work. There is no portability rule like the one that exists under H-1B. Build enough lead time into your transition so the new employer's filing is complete before your current status expires.
