As part of a broader team, you collaborate with other technical program managers to ensure that work in your space aligns with work and plans of other teams across BDT and other organizations. You establish mechanisms for inspection and awareness of progress across cross cutting initiatives.
Data drives your “flywheel”. You analyze data to glean insights that drive experimentation. You leverage data such as service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to surface opportunities for improvement. You take what’s proven and partner with Amazon organizations to apply and scale it. You define, implement, and monitor metrics that track your progress.
You partner with Amazon’s business orgs to test hypotheses and deploy AI-based solutions to reduce friction and risk of errors in the ways that businesses use data.
You give feedback on narratives, contribute to strategy (e.g., OP1 planning), set goals, discuss weekly business metrics, and more.
You partner with Amazon’s PXT organization to evolve and optimize roles guidelines and org design best practices to align with the way businesses are evolving their practices around getting insights from their data.
You partner with engineering, human resources, legal, documentation, solution architecture, privacy, finance, and more to optimize usage of the Andes data lake for AI-based methodologies.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Engineering Senior Manager
Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. equivalency
A three-year Australian engineering bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes. Get a credential evaluation from NACES before your job search so employers can confirm specialty occupation requirements are met without delay.
Target engineering orgs with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify companies that have filed LCAs for senior engineering leadership titles. Employers with prior LCA history understand the process and are less likely to stall your offer over unfamiliar sponsorship requirements.
Clarify the E-3 advantage early in salary negotiations
E-3 sponsorship requires your employer to certify your wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for senior engineering managers. Raise this early so compensation discussions are anchored correctly and neither side is surprised by wage requirements once the LCA is filed.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation criteria
USCIS requires that the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For senior engineering managers, the engineering discipline must align with your degree. Generic management duties alone won't qualify without a clear technical and educational connection.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after your offer
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. Most senior engineering managers can move from offer to consulate appointment within a few weeks without needing a separate immigration attorney.
Prepare for consulate scrutiny of management vs. technical scope
Consular officers sometimes question whether senior manager titles involve genuine specialty occupation work. Bring documentation showing the technical engineering component of your role, including reporting structure, project scope, and how your degree field directly applies to your day-to-day responsibilities.
E-3 Visa Engineering Senior Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Engineering Senior Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point for Australian professionals searching for Engineering Senior Manager roles that include E-3 visa sponsorship. The platform surfaces roles where employers have demonstrated sponsorship willingness, so you're not cold-approaching companies unfamiliar with the E-3 process. Filtering by role and visa type saves significant time compared to general job searches.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Engineering Senior Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation under the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific engineering discipline and your duties are primarily technical or engineering-led rather than purely administrative. USCIS and the DOL both assess whether the role normally requires a specialized degree. Senior manager titles with broad general management duties and no clear engineering component can be more difficult to certify, so your job description matters.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Engineering Senior Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, which means Australian engineering senior managers can apply any time a role is available rather than waiting for the April H-1B visa registration window. The E-3 also renews indefinitely in two-year periods without re-entering a random selection process. H-1B applicants face a roughly 25% selection rate under the current lottery, creating significant uncertainty for senior engineering hires that the E-3 avoids entirely.
What documentation should I prepare for an E-3 application at a senior engineering management level?
You'll need your Australian passport, a certified DOL Labor Condition Application from your employer, and evidence that your degree aligns with the engineering discipline the role requires. For senior manager positions, also prepare a detailed job description showing the technical engineering scope of your work, your academic transcripts, and any credential evaluation confirming your Australian degree meets U.S. equivalency standards.
