Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Food Supervisor
Verify your degree supports the role
The E-3 visa requires a bachelor's degree directly related to the job. A degree in food science, hospitality management, or nutrition strengthens your specialty occupation case far more than a general business qualification for a Food Supervisor position.
Target employers with food service operations
Large hotel chains, hospital networks, university dining programs, and contract catering companies regularly hire Food Supervisors at a level that supports E-3 sponsorship. These employers already manage multi-state labor compliance, which makes LCA filing a familiar process.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Food Supervisor jobs by employers who have sponsored E-3 or H-1B visas before. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you secure an offer.
Confirm the role meets specialty occupation criteria
Not every Food Supervisor role qualifies. USCIS requires the position to normally demand at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Ask the employer to review the job description with you before they post the LCA with DOL.
Secure a certified LCA before your consulate appointment
Your employer must file and receive a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before you can apply at the consulate. DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days, so factor that into your start date timeline.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but have a formal credential evaluation ready. USCIS may request it during adjudication, and having it upfront prevents delays.
E-3 Visa Food Supervisor: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Food Supervisor jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
The most direct approach is using Migrate Mate, which filters Food Supervisor roles by employers with a demonstrated history of sponsoring Australian workers on E-3 or related visas. Because E-3 sponsorship requires the employer to file an LCA with DOL, targeting companies already familiar with that process significantly reduces friction during the offer stage.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Food Supervisor role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the position is defined. USCIS requires the role to normally demand at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as food science, nutrition, or hospitality management. A supervisory title alone isn't enough. Employers need to document that the degree requirement is standard for the role, not just preferred, so job description language matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Food Supervisor roles?
The E-3 has a significant practical advantage: there's no lottery. H-1B petitions for Food Supervisor roles compete in an annual random selection process, meaning you could wait years before getting a slot. The E-3 is available year-round exclusively to Australian citizens, and approval timelines are tied to consulate scheduling rather than a lottery outcome.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Food Supervisor?
Yes, but you need to restart the process with the new employer. They must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp, which typically requires returning to a U.S. consulate in Australia or applying at a consulate in a third country. There's no portability provision like some other visa categories, so plan your transition timing carefully.
