Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Full Stack Developer
Frame your Australian degree for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's in computer science or software engineering satisfies the E-3 visa degree requirement. Make this explicit in your resume and cover letter so hiring managers and their HR teams don't flag it as a gap during sponsorship screening.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for Full Stack Developer or software engineer roles. Prior LCA activity signals an employer already understands the E-3 process and won't treat sponsorship as unfamiliar territory.
Use Migrate Mate to find and file your E-3
Search for Full Stack Developer roles with E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate, then use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from offer letter to consulate appointment, without needing a separate immigration attorney.
Clarify the job description's degree requirement early
E-3 specialty occupation requires the role to normally call for a specific bachelor's degree. If a job posting says 'degree preferred' rather than 'required,' ask the recruiter to confirm the internal job description specifies a degree in a relevant field before investing in the interview process.
Prepare for consulate questions on your tech stack
Consular officers assess whether your background genuinely matches the offered Full Stack Developer role. Bring documentation tying your degree and work experience to the specific languages, frameworks, and systems named in your offer letter and certified LCA.
Align your offer letter to the certified LCA before you travel
Your job title, work location, and start date in the offer letter must match the certified LCA exactly. Discrepancies between these documents are a common reason consular officers request additional evidence or delay visa issuance at the interview.
E-3 Visa Full Stack Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Full Stack Developer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title, location, and sponsorship status so you're only seeing roles where employers are open to the E-3 process, saving time you'd otherwise spend manually screening listings.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Full Stack Developer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as computer science, software engineering, or information technology. Roles where the employer accepts any degree or equivalent experience without a field requirement are harder to support. Your offer letter and job description should specify the degree field to avoid issues at the DOL LCA stage or at the consulate.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Full Stack Developers?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there's no lottery and no random selection. H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate before you can even file. For an Australian Full Stack Developer with a job offer, the E-3 means you can start the process immediately after the LCA is certified, rather than waiting up to a year for a lottery result.
Can I switch employers or roles after my E-3 is approved?
You can change employers on E-3 status, but you need a new LCA certified by the DOL and a new visa stamp before starting work for the new company. If your visa is still valid and the new role is a similar specialty occupation, some applicants get the new stamp at a consulate in Australia or at a third country. There's no formal portability rule like H-1B's AC21, so the new employer's paperwork must be in place before your first day.
