The Experience:
This role sits at the heart of the Office of the CEO organization, inside the AI Trust and Governance engineering team — the group making sure Salesforce's AI is powerful and trustworthy. As a Senior/Lead Software Engineer, you'll bring hands-on technical leadership across architecture, platform innovation, and large-scale distributed systems.
You'll team up with engineering, product, architecture, and platform partners to design and build scalable, cloud-native services that power Salesforce's AI Trust and Governance mission. As a senior/lead IC, you'll set the technical direction, mentor engineers, tackle thorny technical challenges, and raise the bar for the whole team.
If you're well-versed and passionate about Core and near-Core systems, systems programming, and building highly concurrent, highly scalable, resilient systems, this is the team for you.
You're Our Person If:
-
AI-first mindset: Strong orientation toward leveraging AI-driven tools, automation, and intelligent workflows to supercharge developer productivity, system capabilities, and product value.
-
Adaptable and results-driven: Adapt quickly to shifting requirements, priorities, and strategies in a fast-moving environment built on Salesforce Core, partnering with teams such as Data Cloud and AI Platform. Lead the design and development of cutting-edge AI system functionality.
-
Ownership and leadership: Design new architecture to solve complex scalability problems. Build comprehensive functional and system-level tests for your area. Take features end-to-end and drive the design and architecture decisions that shape them.
-
Strong collaboration skills: A proactive team player who engages across teams to drive solutions and improvements. Investigates issues through debugging and root cause analysis to diagnose defects. Takes an active role in the release and deployment process. The Multiplier Effect: Guide MTS/AMTS engineers through mentorship and code/design reviews, elevating the team's overall craft.
Qualifications
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science.
- 4+ years industry experience in system or database internals programming.

- An innovator's mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented attitude.
- Ability to learn fast and deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment.
- Strong Java or C programming skills.
Even Better If:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with proven cross-team collaboration experience.
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects, hitting deadlines, and rolling with shifting priorities.
- A team-first mentality - you celebrate the win as much as the assist.
- The ability to turn strategic goals into concrete technical plans and architecture.
- Experience with the Salesforce platform (Apex, LWC, Data Cloud), or the hustle to learn it fast.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Agentforce or Agent Builder.
- Skilled at critically evaluating code, human- or AI-generated for correctness, quality, security, and performance through rigorous review.

Salesforce is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a policy of non-discrimination with all employees and applicants for employment. What does that mean exactly? It means that at Salesforce, we believe in equality for all. And we believe we can lead the path to equality in part by creating a workplace that’s inclusive, and free from discrimination. Know your rights: workplace discrimination is illegal. Any employee or potential employee will be assessed on the basis of merit, competence and qualifications – without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, transgender status, age, disability, veteran or marital status, political viewpoint, or other classifications protected by law. This policy applies to current and prospective employees, no matter where they are in their Salesforce employment journey. It also applies to recruiting, hiring, job assignment, compensation, promotion, benefits, training, assessment of job performance, discipline, termination, and everything in between. Recruiting, hiring, and promotion decisions at Salesforce are fair and based on merit. The same goes for compensation, benefits, promotions, transfers, reduction in workforce, recall, training, and education.
In the United States, compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, job level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Frame your degree equivalency upfront
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa specialty occupation purposes. Include a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator in your application package before the employer files the LCA.
Target employers with prior LCA history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify companies that have previously filed LCAs for software engineering roles. Prior filings signal that the employer already understands the E-3 process and won't stall on the paperwork.
Clarify full-stack scope in your job offer letter
Consular officers assess whether your role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Ask your employer to specify in the offer letter that the position requires a degree in a directly related field, not just any bachelor's degree, to satisfy the USCIS specialty occupation standard.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA step
The LCA must be DOL-certified before your visa appointment, which trips up many first-time sponsors. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so the process moves from offer acceptance to consulate appointment without delays from your employer's side.
Negotiate E-3 filing costs into your offer
Unlike H-1B visa, E-3 sponsorship costs are relatively low and employers are legally permitted to pass some fees to employees. Raise the fee allocation during offer negotiation, not after signing, so both parties are aligned before the LCA filing begins.
Book your consulate appointment before giving notice
E-3 visas are issued at Australian consulates, not through USCIS. Appointment slots at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season. Confirm your interview date before resigning your current role so your start date aligns with your actual visa issuance timeline.
E-3 Visa Full Stack Web Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Full Stack Web Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 visa sponsorship. It filters listings to companies with active sponsorship history so you're not wasting applications on employers who have never filed an LCA. Standard job boards don't surface this information, which makes the search significantly less efficient without a dedicated tool.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Full Stack Web Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS defines specialty occupation as a role that normally requires a theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge and a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Full-stack engineering roles that require a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline consistently meet this standard. Roles with vague requirements like 'any degree accepted' are harder to qualify and may require additional documentation.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Full Stack Web Engineers?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, which is the single biggest practical difference for Australian engineers. H-1B applicants enter a random selection process with roughly a one-in-five chance of being chosen each year. E-3 visas are available year-round, processed at Australian consulates, and renewable indefinitely as long as you hold a qualifying job offer. The trade-off is that E-3 is limited to Australian citizens.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Full Stack Web Engineer?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp for each employer change. Unlike H-1B portability rules, there's no formal transfer mechanism for E-3. Your new employer files a fresh LCA with the DOL, and you'll typically need to attend a consulate appointment in Australia to get a new visa issued before starting with them, unless you're changing status from within the U.S.
