Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Identity And Access Management
Frame your IAM credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
Your Australian degree must align directly with the IAM role. A computer science or information systems degree maps cleanly, but a general business degree won't satisfy the specialty occupation requirement even with years of IAM experience.
Target employers with active security compliance needs
Financial institutions, healthcare systems, and federal contractors run large IAM programs and file LCAs regularly. These organizations understand work visa processes because regulatory mandates drive their hiring regardless of sponsorship complexity.
Clarify the LCA timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must get DOL to certify the LCA before your consulate appointment. Confirm they understand this step runs first and that your start date depends on LCA certification, not just offer acceptance.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and paperwork
IAM roles often involve complex job descriptions that need precise language to satisfy DOL specialty occupation standards. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA drafting, DS-160 preparation, and consulate documentation from offer to appointment.
Verify your employer meets E-Verify requirements
Some IAM roles sit inside federal contractor environments where E-Verify enrollment is mandatory. Confirm your employer is enrolled before the offer stage, since non-enrolled federal contractors cannot legally onboard you regardless of visa status.
Request a two-year initial petition to maximize your runway
E-3 status grants up to two years initially and renews indefinitely. Ask your employer to petition for the full two-year period upfront, giving you time to deliver on the role before coordinating your first renewal cycle.

Find Identity And Access Management JobsIdentity And Access Management E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Identity and Access Management jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that include E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards mix visa statuses and make it difficult to filter for employers willing to file an LCA. Migrate Mate surfaces IAM roles from employers already engaged in the E-3 process, so you're not cold-pitching sponsorship to hiring managers unfamiliar with Australian visa requirements.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an IAM role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge and a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, cybersecurity, or information systems. Roles like IAM engineer, identity architect, or access governance analyst routinely satisfy the specialty occupation standard. Generic IT support roles that don't require a specific degree may not qualify.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for IAM professionals?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply any time of year and start as soon as your LCA is certified and your consulate appointment clears. The H-1B caps at 85,000 per year with a randomized lottery, meaning qualified IAM candidates are regularly excluded through no fault of their own. For Australian citizens, the E-3 is a far more reliable path into U.S. IAM roles.
Can I switch IAM employers while on E-3 status?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before returning to the U.S., or a change of status if you're already inside the country. You can continue working for your current employer while the new LCA is being processed, but you cannot begin work for the new employer until everything clears.
