Company Description
At Orchard, we believe creativity and technology should work hand-in-hand to invent better outcomes. We’re Australia’s leading health and wellness agency, blending modern marketing with science and powered by deep digital experience. Our work wins effectiveness awards and, more importantly, creates meaningful change for patients, HCPs, and the brands we partner with.
We’re a fun, hardworking team that leaves egos at the door. Past that door? A collaborative studio filled with inspiring people, big ideas, and yes, free crumpets.
Job Description
We're looking for a senior Strategy Director to partner with healthcare and animal health brands across the US Part time 3 days a week. You'll sit at the intersection of business strategy and integrated execution, helping clients articulate the problems that matter most and then shaping solutions that draw on the full breadth of our agency's capabilities: brand, content, UX, data, digital, social and beyond.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to stay in a single lane. You'll need to move comfortably between boardroom conversations with senior marketing leaders and hands-on collaboration with multidisciplinary creative and technology teams. You'll be the person who asks the questions nobody else is asking, brings clarity to complexity, and turns ambiguity into actionable strategy.
Key responsibilities
Strategy:
- Partner with client marketing, digital and commercial teams to diagnose underlying business and marketing challenges, going beyond the brief to uncover what's really holding a brand or business unit back.
- Translate complex, sometimes competing business priorities into focused strategic questions the agency can rally around.
- Develop integrated strategies that bridge brand positioning, communications planning, content ecosystems and digital experience, always anchored in a clearly defined business problem.
Facilitation & Collaboration:
- Design and lead workshops, working sessions and strategy sprints that bring together client stakeholders across functions, aligning teams around shared problems and co-creating solutions.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior client contacts (VP and C-suite level), building long-term relationships grounded in commercial understanding and strategic credibility.
- Foster collaboration across agency disciplines, brand, content, UX, data, social and CRM, ensuring strategic thinking is embedded from the outset, not bolted on after the fact.
Leadership & Growth:
- Contribute to new business efforts by shaping strategic approaches, leading pitches and demonstrating the value of integrated, insight-led thinking.
- Stay current with developments across the healthcare and animal health landscape, regulatory shifts, market dynamics, emerging technologies and evolving patient/consumer/veterinary expectations.
Qualifications
Experience required
- 10+ years’ experience working in a strategic/planning function, ideally within digital or creative agency
- Healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising experience is essential, if you've worked in animal health, even better
- A mastery of your strategic capability, and a basic understanding across other forms of strategy, including, but not limited to: Brand strategy & communications strategy, digital and CX
- Track record of turning complex business problems into inspiring and effective solutions.
- Ability to work independently and make things happen without a large team around you
- Flexibility for some AU time-zone cross over, some local US travel
- Genuine curiosity about culture, people, technology and what comes next
Above all, the successful candidate to join Orchard will be someone who has a strong work ethic driven by creative passion, positive energy and thrives on challenges, alongside a desire to grow with the company!
If you feel like this is the right job for you, would like to take your career to the next level, work in a great cultural environment that allows you to grow and enjoy work, please email your CV and contact details to jobs@orchard.com.au and we will arrange to meet you.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Strategy Director
Frame your credentials for U.S. specialty occupation standards
An Australian three-year bachelor's degree satisfies E-3 degree requirements, but your supporting documents should explicitly connect your qualification to the strategic planning functions of the role. Vague degree descriptions create unnecessary friction at the consulate.
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
Companies that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for senior strategy roles already understand the DOL certification process. Searching DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data surfaces employers who've sponsored similar positions before.
Negotiate the LCA timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer must obtain a certified LCA from DOL before you can lodge your visa application. Confirm the hiring team knows this step adds at least seven business days and build it into your start date, not around it.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA and paperwork
Strategy Director hires often move fast once an offer is made. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the LCA submission, visa documentation, and consulate preparation so you're not coordinating three moving parts with an employer who may be doing this for the first time.
Clarify the specialty occupation case early with your employer
Some companies post Strategy Director roles with broad scope that touches general management. If the job description doesn't emphasize the theoretical and analytical application of a specific field of study, USCIS can question specialty occupation status during any subsequent change-of-status filing.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at your consulate interview
Strategy Director is a senior role, and consular officers sometimes probe whether applicants intend to stay permanently. Having clear documentation of your Australian ties, such as property, family, or professional registrations, strengthens your nonimmigrant intent position.

Find Strategy Director JobsStrategy Director E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Strategy Director jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Unlike general job boards, it filters for employers open to the E-3 visa and surfaces Strategy Director positions where sponsorship is part of the hiring conversation, not an afterthought you raise at the offer stage.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Strategy Director role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. A Strategy Director role qualifies when it theoretically and practically requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, economics, or management. The connection between your degree and the strategic analytical functions of the role must be clearly documented. Broad executive roles that don't require a field-specific degree can face scrutiny, so the job description matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Strategy Director role?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, so you can apply at any time of year and don't face the uncertainty of random selection that affects H-1B applicants. Renewals are available in two-year increments indefinitely. For a senior role like Strategy Director, where timing and certainty matter to both you and your employer, the E-3 removes the lottery risk entirely.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Strategy Director?
Changing employers requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with DOL and have it certified before you can begin work. A promotion that materially changes your job duties, even within the same company, may also require an amended LCA. Plan for at least seven to ten business days for DOL certification before any transition takes effect.
