Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Project Management Specialist
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree satisfies the E-3 visa specialty occupation requirement. Get your transcripts evaluated by a NACES-member credential service so U.S. hiring managers recognize your qualification without delays in the sponsorship process.
Target employers with active LCA filing histories
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for project management roles. Employers already familiar with LCA certification are far less likely to stall or withdraw an offer when E-3 paperwork begins.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor Australian nationals. Use it to build a shortlist before reaching out to hiring teams.
Frame your PMP or CAPM certification in the job offer
If you hold a PMP or CAPM, ask your employer to reference it in the offer letter or LCA job description. USCIS adjudicators look for professional credentials that reinforce the specialty occupation determination for project management positions.
Clarify the LCA timeline before accepting an offer
The DOL certifies an LCA within seven working days under normal conditions. Confirm your employer understands this step happens before your consulate appointment so your start date accounts for the full E-3 filing sequence, not just interview scheduling.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA filing, DS-160 preparation, and consulate appointment documentation. This reduces the risk of paperwork errors that delay your start date.
E-3 Visa Project Management Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Project Management Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship in the U.S. It surfaces Project Management Specialist roles where employers are open to sponsoring Australian nationals, saving you from filtering through listings where sponsorship is unavailable or limited to H-1B visa. Start your search there before approaching employers directly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Project Management Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as project management, business administration, or engineering. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field, or list a degree as preferred rather than required, can create problems at the LCA or consulate stage. Review the job description carefully before your employer files the LCA with DOL.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Project Management Specialist roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500-visa annual cap that has never been exhausted, so there is no lottery and no random selection. H-1B requires registration in a lottery that selected roughly 25% of applicants in recent fiscal years. For an Australian national with a qualifying project management role, the E-3 offers a direct and predictable path that H-1B cannot match.
Can I change project management employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa issued for the new role. Unlike some other visa categories, there is no portability rule that lets you transfer status automatically. Plan for a gap between your last day with the old employer and your consulate appointment for the new position.
