Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Bring a credential evaluation letter to interviews so employers don't flag your qualification as a gap during the LCA review.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for product development or engineering roles already understand the E-3 process. Prioritize these employers over those who have never sponsored, since they won't need to learn the process at your expense.
Clarify the E-3 advantage during offer negotiations
Employers often assume visa sponsorship means H-1B lottery risk. Explain upfront that the E-3 has no lottery and that DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days, so your start date isn't held hostage to an annual lottery draw.
Align your offer letter to DOL prevailing wage requirements
The LCA requires your offered salary to meet the DOL prevailing wage for your specific job title and work location. Ask your employer to confirm the wage level before signing your offer, so there are no surprises during the USCIS or consulate review.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation. This removes the administrative burden from your employer, which makes sponsorship a much easier yes for hiring managers who are unfamiliar with the process.
Prepare a specialty occupation narrative before your consulate interview
Consular officers sometimes push back on product development titles if the role sounds generalist. Bring documentation showing your degree field directly maps to the role's technical requirements, such as a job description referencing engineering or product systems expertise.
E-3 Visa Senior Product Development Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Product Development Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Senior Product Development Manager roles from employers with E-3 and H-1B sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored. Filter by role, location, and visa type to find employers already familiar with the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Product Development Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. The E-3 requires the role to normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Senior Product Development Manager positions typically require a degree in engineering, computer science, or business, and carry enough technical and analytical responsibility to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Roles that are purely generalist management with no field-specific degree requirement can face scrutiny, so your job description and offer letter should reflect the technical nature of the work.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for this role?
The E-3 is significantly more predictable for employers. The H-1B is subject to an annual lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate, meaning your sponsorship could fail through no fault of yours or your employer's. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so once your employer files the LCA and you clear your consulate interview, you have a confirmed start date. For a senior hire, that certainty matters to both sides.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Senior Product Development Manager?
You can change employers, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and your new role must still qualify as a specialty occupation. A promotion within the same company to a title like VP of Product or Director of Engineering typically requires an amended LCA if the job duties change materially. USCIS treats each E-3 petition as specific to an employer and role, so any significant change triggers a new filing.
