Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Enterprise Application Architect
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Your three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Prepare a credential evaluation from a recognized agency before your first interview to prevent delays at the LCA stage.
Target employers with active E-3 filing history
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for LCA disclosure data filtered to SOC code 15-1299 or 11-3021 to find companies that have already sponsored architects in similar enterprise roles, rather than cold-approaching employers unfamiliar with the process.
Frame your role as a specialty occupation in writing
When negotiating your offer, ask the hiring manager to describe the role as requiring a degree in a specific field like systems architecture or enterprise integration. A job description that says 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required' creates problems during LCA certification.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate steps
The LCA must be certified by DOL before you can attend your consulate appointment, and errors in the employer's attestation are a common delay. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment so nothing stalls at the paperwork stage.
Clarify employer responsibilities before accepting an offer
Your employer files the LCA and signs the DS-7002 if applicable, but you own the DS-160 and consulate scheduling. Confirm early that your HR team understands the split, since confusion about who prepares which documents is a frequent source of missed appointment windows.
Plan your consulate appointment around project start dates
E-3 visa interviews are available at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, with wait times that vary significantly by location and season. Build at least four to six weeks of buffer between your offer acceptance and your expected start date to account for scheduling and administrative processing.

Find Enterprise Application Architect JobsEnterprise Application Architect E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Enterprise Application Architect jobs that offer E-3 sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Enterprise Application Architect roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. Most standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up manually screening listings that won't sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have a documented history of filing LCAs for Australian professionals, saving you significant time.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Enterprise Application Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Enterprise Application Architect roles consistently meet the specialty occupation standard because they require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge, and employers routinely require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or software engineering. A job description that mentions systems integration, enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF, or solution design for complex platforms strengthens the case significantly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Enterprise Application Architect roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year and start work as soon as your consulate appointment clears. H-1B selection is randomized in a lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection, and cap-subject petitions only begin in April. For Australians, the E-3 is a direct path with no lottery risk and no multi-year wait.
Can I switch employers after starting work on an E-3 as an Enterprise Application Architect?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp for the incoming employer before you start working there. The E-3 is employer-specific, so you can't port it between jobs the way some other visa categories allow. Build enough lead time before your intended start date with the new employer to complete DOL's LCA certification and schedule a consulate appointment if your current stamp has already expired.
