Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Project Management
Align your credentials with specialty occupation
Your Australian degree must match the specific discipline of the project management role, not just management broadly. A construction PM role needs an engineering or construction management degree; a tech PM role needs an IT or computer science background to satisfy E-3 specialty occupation criteria.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center for employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for project management titles. Those employers already understand the E-3 process and are far less likely to delay or withdraw an offer over sponsorship uncertainty.
Address the specialty occupation question early
Senior project management roles sometimes face consular scrutiny over whether they genuinely require a degree in a specific field. Before your interview, document how the role uses specialized theoretical knowledge, not just general managerial experience, and bring supporting evidence such as project scope statements or technical specifications.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment, and errors at that stage can delay your start date by weeks.
Clarify third-party worksite arrangements with your employer
Many senior PM roles involve deploying to a client site rather than the employer's own office. Confirm with your employer that the LCA reflects the actual work location, since the DOL requires a separate LCA for each worksite, and a mismatch can invalidate your visa documentation.
Prepare your I-94 and status records before the consulate
If you've held a prior U.S. visa, download your complete I-94 history from the CBP portal before your consulate appointment. Consular officers reviewing PM applications often ask about previous U.S. work authorization, and gaps or unexplained entries can trigger administrative processing.

Find Senior Project Management JobsSenior Project Management E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Project Management jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. Filter by job title and location to surface employers actively hiring for Senior Project Management positions who are familiar with the E-3 process. Standard job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship willingness, which means a lot of wasted applications.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Project Management role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but it's not automatic. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as engineering, construction management, business administration, or information systems, not just any degree. Generic management roles that accept any degree field often fail the specialty occupation test at the consulate. Your job offer letter and supporting documentation should explicitly tie the role's duties to a theoretical body of knowledge in a defined discipline.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Project Management professionals?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, so you can apply any time of year once you have a job offer. The H-1B requires entering a random lottery in March for an October start date, and selection is not guaranteed. For Australian project managers, the E-3 is a faster and more predictable route. Both visas require the employer to file an LCA with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance before the application proceeds.
Can I change employers or projects on an E-3 as a Senior Project Manager?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and, in most cases, a new E-3 visa before starting with the new employer. If you're already in the U.S. in E-3 status, you can begin working for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and the visa is filed, though the consulate appointment requirement adds complexity. Project managers who frequently move between firms should plan three to four months of lead time for each transition to avoid gaps in work authorization.
