Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Manufacturing Operations Manager
Get your credentials formally assessed early
Australian three-year engineering or business degrees are generally accepted as U.S. bachelor's equivalents, but your employer's immigration counsel may require a credential evaluation report. Order one from a NACES-approved evaluator before you start applying.
Target manufacturers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify manufacturers that have filed LCAs for operations management roles. Companies with recent filings already understand the E-3 process and are far less likely to withdraw an offer over paperwork concerns.
Frame your Lean and Six Sigma credentials precisely
U.S. operations hiring managers compare your certifications against the specialty occupation standard. Listing 'Lean Six Sigma Black Belt' or 'ISO 9001 lead auditor' signals the degree-level expertise the E-3 requires and reduces the risk of an LCA denial on specialty occupation grounds.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA before accepting
The E-3 requires a certified LCA before your consulate appointment, and the employer must file it with the DOL. Clarify this step during the offer stage so there's no ambiguity about who owns the timeline once you've given notice to your current employer.
Use Migrate Mate to manage your filing end to end
Once you have a written offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. For operations managers with complex reporting structures or multi-site roles, having a dedicated E-3 expert review the specialty occupation documentation reduces the chance of an RFE or consulate delay.
Prepare for prevailing wage scrutiny on multi-site roles
If your role oversees facilities in more than one metro area, the DOL may require a separate LCA for each work location. Raise this with your employer's HR team before the LCA is submitted so the filing covers all sites from the start.

Find Manufacturing Operations Manager JobsManufacturing Operations Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Manufacturing Operations Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Manufacturing Operations Manager roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not sifting through listings that will fall apart the moment you mention visa requirements. Filtering by role and visa type from the start saves weeks of dead-end applications.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Manufacturing Operations Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations management. Roles where the employer would accept any degree discipline, or where a degree isn't actually required, can fail the specialty occupation test. The job description needs to reflect degree-level complexity, not just managerial responsibility.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Manufacturing Operations Manager?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, so you can apply at any point in the year and your application is decided on its merits. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 per year and most applicants enter a random selection lottery. For an Australian professional with a confirmed offer, the E-3 is a direct path where the H-1B would mean waiting for a lottery result that may never come.
Can I transfer my E-3 status if I change employers or move to a different facility?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL before you start work for them, and you'll need to either attend a new consulate appointment or, if you're already in the U.S., file for a change of status. Moving to a different facility under the same employer generally requires a new LCA if the new location is in a different metropolitan statistical area with a different prevailing wage.
