E-3 Visa Nurse Anesthetist Jobs
Nurse Anesthetist roles qualify as E-3 specialty occupations, requiring a master's degree in nurse anesthesia and Australian citizenship. U.S. hospitals actively offer E-3 visa sponsorship for CRNAs, and because the E-3 has no lottery, your application can proceed as soon as your employer files the Labor Condition Application.

Verify your CRNA credentials translate correctly
Australian nurse anesthesia qualifications must map to a U.S. master's-level specialty occupation. Confirm your degree and clinical hours satisfy state CRNA licensure requirements before approaching employers, as credential gaps delay LCA filing.
Target hospitals with active CRNA hiring pipelines
Large health systems and academic medical centers routinely sponsor international CRNAs because the domestic shortage is acute. Search DOL LCA disclosure data to identify facilities that have filed nurse anesthetist applications under E-3 visa or H-1B visa categories.
Address state licensure before the offer stage
Your E-3 petition requires a genuine job offer, but most hospitals won't extend one without a clear licensure pathway. Contact the relevant State Board of Nursing early to confirm your Australian credentials satisfy endorsement requirements for CRNAs.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA
The LCA must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment can be scheduled. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your employer doesn't need to retain a separate immigration attorney.
Clarify E-3 intent at the interview stage
Hiring managers at smaller hospitals often confuse E-3 with H-1B lottery requirements. Bring a one-page summary explaining the E-3 requires no lottery, has a straightforward DOL filing, and can be approved before your start date within weeks, not months.
Prepare for consulate questions on clinical scope
Consular officers frequently ask CRNAs to explain how their Australian anesthesia training meets U.S. specialty occupation standards. Bring your ANZCA or nurse anesthesia transcripts and a written employer statement describing the role's degree requirements.
E-3 Visa Nurse Anesthetist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Nurse Anesthetist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Nurse Anesthetist roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to facilities unfamiliar with the E-3 process. Because CRNAs are in short supply nationally, many health systems are open to sponsoring Australian candidates who hold the right credentials and state licensure pathway.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Nurse Anesthetist role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes. CRNA positions require a master's degree in nurse anesthesia as a standard entry requirement, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation definition. USCIS and DOL consistently classify advanced practice nursing roles requiring graduate-level education as qualifying occupations, provided your employer documents the degree requirement in the Labor Condition Application.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Australian CRNAs?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for Australian CRNAs. Unlike the H-1B, the E-3 has no annual lottery, so your employer can file at any time and receive approval within weeks. The annual E-3 cap of 10,500 visas is rarely approached, meaning there's no competition for slots. You can also renew the E-3 indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you remain employed in a qualifying CRNA role.
Can I work as a CRNA on an E-3 while my state license is pending?
Your E-3 visa can be approved while state licensure is in process, but most hospitals won't let you practice until the license is active. Some states issue a temporary permit that satisfies credentialing requirements during the endorsement period. Confirm your target state's interim permit rules before accepting an offer, since start date delays affect your I-94 entry timing.
