E-3 Visa Orthopedic Physician Assistant Jobs
Orthopedic Physician Assistant roles qualify as E-3 specialty occupations, requiring a master's degree and state licensure that Australian-trained PAs must verify before seeking sponsorship. The E-3 has no lottery and no cap, making it a reliable path for qualified candidates with a U.S. employer willing to file an LCA.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant
Verify your PA credentials transfer correctly
Australian-trained PAs typically hold a bachelor's or master's degree, but U.S. orthopedic practices expect NCCPA certification and state licensure. Confirm your credentials meet those standards before applying, since gaps can delay or derail an employer's LCA filing.
Target orthopedic groups with LCA filing history
Large orthopedic surgery groups and hospital systems file LCAs far more often than solo practices. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employer names under SOC code 29-1071 to identify who has sponsored physician assistant roles before.
Find E-3 sponsorship jobs through Migrate Mate
Searching broadly for PA roles wastes time on employers unfamiliar with E-3 sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter orthopedic physician assistant jobs specifically listed with E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're only contacting employers already open to the process.
Address the specialty occupation question early
Some employers wrongly assume a PA role won't qualify as a specialty occupation. The position requires at least a master's degree in physician assistant studies, which satisfies USCIS's standard. Confirm this with your prospective employer before the offer stage to avoid last-minute hesitation.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but your start date depends on your employer initiating the filing promptly after the offer. Discuss this timeline explicitly during the offer stage so the consulate appointment isn't delayed by administrative lag.
Handle your LCA and consulate prep end to end
Orthopedic practices rarely have in-house immigration counsel, which means LCA errors and missing consulate documents are common. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the entire process from offer acceptance through your Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth appointment.

Find Orthopedic Physician Assistant JobsOrthopedic Physician Assistant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find orthopedic physician assistant jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Most general job searches surface PA roles without filtering for visa sponsorship, which means a lot of wasted outreach to employers unfamiliar with the E-3. Migrate Mate lists orthopedic physician assistant positions specifically tagged for E-3 sponsorship, so you can focus on employers who already understand the process and are prepared to file the required LCA with the DOL.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an orthopedic physician assistant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Physician assistant roles require a master's degree from an accredited PA program, which satisfies USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Orthopedic PA positions are particularly strong candidates because the clinical scope is specialized enough that a general degree is insufficient. Your employer will need to document the degree requirement in the LCA filing to confirm qualification.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for orthopedic physician assistant roles?
The H-1B has an annual cap of 65,000 slots and requires winning a lottery, so there's no guarantee of selection even with a valid offer. The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been filled, meaning qualified Australian PAs with a job offer can apply without lottery risk. The E-3 also has no per-country backlog and renews indefinitely in two-year increments.
Can I start working for a new orthopedic employer while still on my current E-3?
Your E-3 is employer-specific, so you can't transfer it directly. The new employer needs to file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp before starting work. If you're already inside the U.S., some situations allow a change of status filing, but most Australian PAs handle this through a new consulate appointment in Australia between roles.
