Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a People Operations Specialist
Frame your HR credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
Australian HR qualifications translate well, but your degree must align with the specific role. A general business degree supporting a People Ops position can raise questions, so document how your coursework directly applies to the job duties.
Target companies with active DOL LCA filings
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify U.S. employers who have filed LCAs for HR or People Operations roles. These employers already understand the E-3 process and are far more likely to move quickly.
Use Migrate Mate to search for sponsoring employers
Finding People Operations roles with genuine E-3 sponsorship willingness is the hardest part of the search. Migrate Mate surfaces employers actively hiring for this role with sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the E-3.
Address the specialty occupation question before your offer
People Ops roles sometimes get scrutinized because HR can appear generalist. Before accepting an offer, confirm the job description emphasizes specialized duties like workforce analytics, HRIS implementation, or organizational design rather than administrative support tasks.
Request employer confirmation of prevailing wage compliance
The LCA requires your employer to certify your salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for People Operations in your work location. Ask your hiring contact early whether they've confirmed the wage level, since this step affects your offer negotiation.
File your LCA and visa paperwork with professional support
LCA errors and incomplete DS-160 submissions are the most common causes of E-3 delays for HR professionals. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your consulate appointment isn't delayed by avoidable mistakes.

Find People Operations Specialist JobsPeople Operations Specialist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find People Operations Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces People Operations Specialist roles at employers with active E-3 and LCA filing history, which cuts out the time spent contacting companies that aren't set up to sponsor. Filtering by sponsorship history rather than job title alone significantly improves your hit rate for genuine opportunities.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a People Operations Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the job description matters. USCIS expects the role to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field like human resources, industrial-organizational psychology, or business administration. Roles focused on HRIS management, workforce planning, or HR analytics clear this bar more easily than broadly defined generalist positions.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for People Operations roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens but has no annual cap and no lottery, which means you can apply at any time once you have a job offer. The H-1B is subject to an annual lottery with a roughly 25% selection rate. For Australians in People Ops, the E-3 is a substantially more reliable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 in a People Operations role?
Yes to both. Changing employers requires a new LCA and a fresh visa application or amended status filing before you start with the new company. A promotion or title change within the same employer generally requires an amended LCA if the wage level or job duties change materially. Your employer's HR or legal team should initiate both processes.
