At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We are a global healthcare leader headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our employees around the world work to discover and bring life-changing medicines to those who need them, improve the understanding and management of disease, and give back to our communities through philanthropy and volunteerism. We give our best effort to our work, and we put people first. We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.
Come join Lilly where innovative technology meets purpose-driven medicine. This role sits at the center of our platform strategy, AI innovation, and the partnerships that shape how we run the full lifecycle of payer contracts, government pricing, and rebate programs for a growing portfolio of medicines.
We are seeking a Data & Platform Architect who brings the technical depth to shape the strategic direction and evolution of a complex cloud platform, along with the eye for business to align that platform with the strategy it enables across Lilly and with our primary partner, IntegriChain. This person will shape the platform roadmap, champion AI-driven automation, and translate the complexity of pharma payer contract management into scalable, intelligent solutions.
As Lilly purposefully expands its use of AI and automation to handle growing contract volumes across chargebacks, government pricing, Medicare, and utilization-based rebates, this role will be instrumental in defining where and how AI fits into the LVA operational model and holding vendors and internal teams accountable to that vision.
This role is well suited for a technically strong, self-directed professional who is curious, takes initiative, and is eager to grow by learning the business deeply on the job. Candidates with a consulting approach and a passion for IT, AI, and platform strategy will be especially well positioned to succeed in this opportunity.
What You Will Do
Platform Strategy & Vendor Influence
- Define and lead the strategic data & architectural vision & direction for Lilly's contract management and rebate platform, ensuring alignment with LVA business objectives and enterprise technology standards.
- Serve as Lilly’s primary technical voice with IntegriChain, actively influencing the vendor’s product roadmap and pushing for capabilities that advance Lilly’s operational and AI/automation goals.
- Partner with LVA business collaborators, T@L product managers, and product owners to turn complex contract and payment challenges into clear technical requirements, platform enhancements, and long-term roadmap priorities.
- Lead architecture reviews, risk assessments, and governance forums for the platform, ensuring solutions are SOX-audit-compliant, scalable, resilient, and secure.
AI & Automation Leadership
- Partner with key business collaborators to identify and prioritize AI and automation opportunities across LVA processes, from contracts and formulary analysis to rebate reconciliation.
- Architect and be responsible for the implementation of AI-powered solutions and integrations with the ICyte platform, SAP, and other Lilly systems.
- Integrate Lilly agentic AI workflows with IntegriChain workflows that accelerate interpretation of complex contract and government pricing data, reducing manual effort and supporting Lilly's growing sales volume.
- Champion adoption of AI-driven features across adjacent LVA systems; influence vendor development investments toward intelligent automation priorities.
Architecture & Delivery
- Define and govern application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure architecture across the LVA platform ecosystem, including cloud-native integrations with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices; drive continuous improvement through modernization, cloud optimization, and technical debt reduction.
- Provide architectural guidance throughout the product lifecycle; anticipate and resolve complex technical, operational, or business problems that impact LVA's contract management capability.
- Translate business needs and automation opportunities into a coherent technical roadmap that can be communicated clearly to engineering teams, data engineers, policy experts, and senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, solution design, or technical leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience architecting SaaS and/or cloud-based solutions, preferably on AWS
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns including microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, MCP, and agentic workflows
- Proven ability to influence external technology vendors or SaaS providers, including shaping product roadmaps without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or government pricing systems particularly in revenue management, contract management, or rebate processing
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI, AI/ML, solution design, or automation within enterprise SaaS environments.
- Experience designing and leading data pipelines for analytics and reporting; Power BI experience is a plus
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional preferred)
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOX, HIPAA, or similar) is a plus; Lilly will provide domain onboarding for the right candidate
- Shown ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical collaborators, including senior IT and business leaders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate multi-functional, matrixed organizations.
Who You Will Work With

Day-to-day collaboration spans LVA business collaborators, data engineering, product management, and the broader Tech at Lilly enterprise architecture community, as well as Lilly’s primary SaaS partner, IntegriChain.
What Sets You Apart
The candidates who will thrive in this role are not just architects—they are strategic influencers. You bring a point of view on where AI can transform payer contract operations, and you can make that case convincingly to business leaders and technology vendors alike. You are comfortable working in ambiguity, able to balance long-term vision with near-term execution, and energized by the pace and complexity of a dynamic environment where intelligent technology is modernizing regulated business processes.
This role requires a passion for modern cloud architecture, AI/automation innovation, and delivering high-quality solutions in a complex environment where your work directly supports patient access to life-changing medicines.

Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation letter ready before interviews so employers don't raise degree equivalency as a blocker.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Platform Architect roles are most common at cloud-native firms, enterprise software companies, and large financial institutions. Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify which employers have filed LCAs for architecture and infrastructure titles recently.
Confirm your role meets specialty occupation criteria
Not every Platform Architect posting will satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation definition. Check that the job description explicitly requires a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field, not just equivalent experience, before committing time to an application.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to stay on schedule
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing stalls between your offer letter and your start date.
Clarify E-3 costs with your employer before signing
E-3 sponsors don't face the same H-1B visa fee structure, but employers still cover the LCA filing and often I-129 costs where applicable. Raise this during offer negotiation so both sides understand who pays what before your first day.
Understand your status gap risk when changing roles
If you're switching employers, your new E-3 filing must be approved before your current status expires. The E-3 doesn't carry the same portability rules as H-1B, so a delayed offer or slow LCA can leave you without valid work authorization.
E-3 Visa Platform Architect: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Platform Architect jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can search Platform Architect positions filtered by employers who are familiar with E-3 requirements, which cuts out the time spent educating recruiters about a visa most U.S. hiring teams have never processed.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Platform Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
Platform Architect roles qualify when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, systems engineering, or software engineering. The key test is whether the employer's job description mandates a degree in a defined discipline, not just general technical experience or an unspecified bachelor's degree.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Platform Architects?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no numerical cap that affects most applicants, so you can file any time of year once you have a job offer. H-1B requires surviving a random selection process each April for an October start. For Platform Architects with an offer in hand, E-3 is a direct path where H-1B is a lottery ticket.
Can I work for multiple clients or on contract as an E-3 Platform Architect?
E-3 status ties you to a specific employer named on the LCA, so consulting arrangements where you bill multiple end clients require careful structuring. Your E-3 sponsor must be your actual employer of record, not the client site. W-2 employment through a consulting firm that holds the LCA is generally acceptable; independent contracting across multiple engagements is not.
