Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees under E-3 visa requirements. Prepare a credential evaluation letter before you start applying so employers don't stall at the offer stage over degree equivalency questions.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed LCAs for Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager roles. Prior filings signal that the employer already understands the E-3 process and won't treat your offer as an experiment.
Find E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with E-3 sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the visa. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once an offer is in hand.
Clarify the specialty occupation link early
Procurement Manager roles that blend general management with administrative duties can draw consular scrutiny over whether a specific degree is required. Frame your role around category management, strategic sourcing, or supplier contracts, tying each function to your degree field before the interview.
Confirm your employer will certify the LCA
The E-3 process requires your employer to file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before your consulate appointment. Establish this expectation during offer negotiations, not after signing, since some smaller procurement teams assume you handle the filing yourself.
Book your consulate appointment after LCA certification
You cannot schedule your U.S. consulate interview until the LCA is certified by DOL, which typically takes seven business days. Build this into your start-date conversation so your employer doesn't expect you to begin work before certification clears.
E-3 Visa Procurement Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Procurement Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Procurement Manager roles where the employer is already open to E-3 sponsorship. General job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up manually vetting each listing. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to E-3 eligibility so your search is targeted from the start.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Procurement Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, business administration, or engineering. The key is demonstrating that the degree is a baseline requirement for the position, not just preferred. Roles focused on strategic sourcing, category management, or supplier contracts generally satisfy this standard more cleanly than generalist operations roles.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Procurement Managers?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap that creates multi-year waiting periods. H-1B visa registrations enter a random selection process, and approval in any given year isn't guaranteed. For an Australian Procurement Manager, the E-3 means you can accept an offer and begin the filing process immediately without competing in a lottery draw.
Can I change employers or roles while on an E-3 visa as a Procurement Manager?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S. if you travel internationally. If you're already in the U.S., you can begin working for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and a new visa application is approved at your consulate.
