Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Product Operations Specialist
Align your degree to the role
Product Operations Specialist positions sit at the intersection of business and technology. Make sure your Australian degree field, whether business, engineering, or information systems, maps directly to the job description before applying, since the E-3 visa specialty occupation requirement is strict.
Target companies with LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for operations or product roles. Past LCA filings signal a company already understands the E-3 process, which shortens your path from offer to approval significantly.
Get your credential equivalency documented early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but consular officers may ask for evidence. Obtain a credential evaluation from a recognized agency before your interview to avoid delays.
Clarify the LCA obligation during offer negotiation
The employer files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before you can proceed to your visa appointment. Confirm your prospective employer understands this obligation and has HR or legal capacity to file it, since delays here stall the entire process.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA filing, DS-160, and consulate preparation in one workflow. This is especially useful for Product Operations roles where the specialty occupation justification requires careful documentation.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at the consulate
Product Operations roles often involve long-term project ownership, which can prompt consular officers to probe your intent to return to Australia. Have a clear, honest account of your career goals and ties to Australia ready before your appointment.
E-3 Visa Product Operations Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Product Operations Specialist jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Product Operations Specialist roles at employers with E-3 visa sponsorship history, filtering out postings that won't lead anywhere. Because the E-3 requires a confirmed job offer and an employer-filed LCA before your consulate appointment, starting your search on a platform that surfaces sponsorship-ready employers saves you significant time.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Product Operations Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, industrial engineering, or information systems. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field, or that treat the degree as a preference rather than a requirement, can struggle to meet the specialty occupation standard. Your offer letter and job description both need to reflect the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Product Operations Specialist roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been exhausted, meaning there is no lottery and approvals are available year-round. The H-1B visa has an 85,000 cap subject to an oversubscribed lottery, so many qualified candidates are not selected. For Australian Product Operations professionals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path, with consulate appointments typically available within weeks of an employer filing the LCA.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Product Operations Specialist?
Yes, but the process starts fresh with each new employer. Your new employer must file a certified LCA with the DOL and you will need to attend a new consulate appointment to obtain an updated E-3 visa stamp. There is no portability provision equivalent to AC21 under the H-1B, so plan your transition timeline to avoid gaps in authorized employment status.
