Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Project Program Manager
Translate your credentials before applying
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized service before interviews so you can answer employer questions about your qualifications without hesitation.
Target companies with active LCA filings
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for project or program manager roles. Prior LCA filings signal the employer already understands the E-3 process and won't need hand-holding through it.
Frame program scope in your job offer letter
The E-3 specialty occupation requirement means your offer letter should describe the role's complexity, the degree field it requires, and why a generalist couldn't fill it. Vague titles like 'Program Manager' with no scope detail can invite USCIS scrutiny at the consulate.
Clarify PMP certification on your DS-160
Project Management Professional certification strengthens your specialty occupation case but doesn't replace the degree requirement. Document both separately in your visa application materials so consular officers understand your qualifications aren't just experiential but formally credentialed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before your consulate appointment can be scheduled. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so the employer doesn't stall on a step they've never done before.
Negotiate who covers government filing fees
The LCA filing is free, but employers may resist paying other associated costs. Raise the fee conversation during the offer stage, not after signing. Many E-3 employers will cover filing costs when it's presented as standard practice during negotiation rather than an afterthought.

Find Project Program Manager JobsProject Program Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Project Program Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to filter Project Program Manager roles by E-3 sponsorship history. Most general job boards don't let you filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying to employers who've never filed an LCA. Migrate Mate surfaces companies with a track record of sponsoring Australian professionals in project and program management roles.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Project Program Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, engineering, or information systems. The key is that the degree must be a genuine prerequisite, not merely preferred. Roles framed as general coordination or administrative management without a specific degree requirement can fail the specialty occupation test at the consulate.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Project Program Manager roles?
The E-3 is available year-round with no lottery, so you can start a Project Program Manager role at any point in the year once your LCA is certified and your consulate appointment is scheduled. The H-1B has an annual cap, a lottery, and an October 1 start date. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is almost always the faster and more predictable path.
Can I change employers or projects while on an E-3 as a Program Manager?
You can change employers, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp at a consulate before starting the new role, unless you're already in the U.S. and the employer supports a consular renewal. Internal transfers to a different program within the same employer don't require a new filing if your job duties and location remain substantially the same.
