E-3 Visa QA Test Engineer Jobs
QA Test Engineer roles in the U.S. frequently qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship because they require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, making it a reliable path for Australian professionals. Employers file an LCA with the DOL before your consulate appointment.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a QA Test Engineer
Align your degree to the role
Consular officers assess whether your qualification matches QA Test Engineer duties. A degree in computer science, software engineering, or information systems maps cleanly. A business or unrelated degree requires supporting documentation showing direct technical relevance.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for QA or software testing roles. Prior filings signal an HR team that already understands the E-3 visa process and won't stall at the sponsorship conversation.
Raise E-3 sponsorship before the offer stage
Bring up visa requirements during final-round interviews, not after the offer letter. Framing it as a straightforward LCA filing rather than a full immigration case reduces employer hesitation and gives HR time to confirm compliance before extending the role.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA submission, DS-160 preparation, and consulate appointment documentation end-to-end, so neither you nor your employer needs an immigration attorney to get the visa issued.
Confirm your employer uses E-Verify
Some technology employers are federal contractors required to use E-Verify. Confirming this early matters because it affects how the LCA wage level is benchmarked and which DOL prevailing wage dataset applies to your QA Test Engineer offer.
Prepare a credentials portfolio before interviewing
Gather your Australian degree certificate, official transcripts, and any ISTQB or similar certifications before your first U.S. interview. Consular officers may request credential evaluation for three-year Australian degrees, so having documents ready accelerates the post-offer timeline.
E-3 Visa QA Test Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find QA Test Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for QA Test Engineer roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, which means most applications go to employers unfamiliar with the process. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with active sponsorship history, so you're not starting the E-3 conversation from scratch at every company.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a QA Test Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. QA Test Engineer positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement. Roles focused on manual testing with no technical degree requirement are less straightforward, but positions involving automation, scripting, or systems testing generally qualify without difficulty.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for QA Test Engineer roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery. The H-1B visa has an 85,000 cap with a heavily oversubscribed lottery, meaning most applicants aren't selected. For a QA Test Engineer with Australian citizenship, the E-3 offers a predictable, year-round path the H-1B simply can't match.
Can I change QA Test Engineer employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you need to restart the process with your new employer. The new company must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if yours has expired, which means a return trip to a U.S. consulate. You can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and you have a valid visa, without a gap in status if timed correctly.
