E-3 Visa Radiologist Jobs
Radiologist roles in the U.S. qualify as E-3 specialty occupations, requiring a medical degree and active state licensure. Australian radiologists can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery, with two-year renewable status tied to your employer's Labor Condition Application filing.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Radiologist
Verify your credentials meet U.S. licensure requirements
U.S. radiology positions require ECFMG certification and completion of an ACGME-accredited residency. Confirm your Australian qualifications are assessed before approaching employers, since gaps in credential recognition can stall an LCA filing mid-process.
Target health systems with existing visa filing infrastructure
Academic medical centers and large hospital networks already maintain immigration counsel and understand LCA obligations. Approaching radiology groups that have sponsored foreign physicians before reduces the risk of a slow-down caused by an employer learning the process from scratch.
Clarify state licensing timelines before accepting an offer
Your E-3 visa requires a valid job offer in a specialty occupation, but some states take three to six months to issue a radiology license. Negotiate your start date around that window so your employer's LCA filing isn't blocked by a pending license.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage your LCA and consulate preparation
The DOL's LCA certification and the subsequent DS-160 and consulate packet involve parallel deadlines that are easy to mistime. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles each stage in sequence so nothing stalls between your offer letter and your visa stamp.
Address dual-intent limitations before your consulate interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers can deny applicants who appear to be pursuing permanent residence. If you hold an approved I-140 or a pending green card application, get legal advice on how to frame your interview responses.
Confirm your employer will file a new LCA for each renewal
E-3 renewals are not automatic. Each two-year extension requires a fresh LCA certified by the DOL before USCIS can approve the petition. Build renewal timelines into your employment contract discussions so sponsorship obligations are explicit from the start.

Find Radiologist JobsRadiologist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Radiologist jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Radiologist roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. Most hospital systems and imaging centers that sponsor foreign physicians are identifiable through their DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active E-3 and LCA records so you're targeting practices already familiar with the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Radiologist role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes. Radiology requires at minimum a Doctor of Medicine degree followed by a completed residency in diagnostic or interventional radiology, satisfying the E-3 specialty occupation standard that a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field is a normal requirement for entry. USCIS and the DOL consistently recognize physician roles as qualifying specialty occupations under E-3 criteria.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Australian radiologists?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, meaning there is no lottery and no waiting period. The H-1B subjects all applicants to a random selection process with a roughly 25 percent chance of selection in recent fiscal years. For an Australian radiologist, the E-3 is a direct and repeatable path that the H-1B cannot match in predictability.
Can I switch radiology employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but your E-3 status is tied to the specific employer named on your LCA and visa petition. When you change jobs, your new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll typically need to attend a new consulate appointment in Australia to obtain an updated visa stamp. You cannot begin work for the new employer until the new LCA is certified and your status documentation reflects the change.
