Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Relationship Banker
Translate your Australian credentials clearly
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in finance or business satisfies E-3 degree requirements, but your offer letter and resume must explicitly link your qualification to the Relationship Banker role. Vague job titles create unnecessary friction at the consulate.
Target banks with active LCA filing history
Employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your visa appointment. Banks that have sponsored workers before understand this step. Prioritize regional and national banks over community credit unions, which rarely have compliance infrastructure for sponsorship.
Address the specialty occupation question early
Not every Relationship Banker posting automatically qualifies as a specialty occupation. Make sure the job description references a degree requirement in a specific field, not just a preference. Raise this directly with the hiring manager before the offer is finalized.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. This removes the compliance burden from your employer, which matters for smaller banks that have never sponsored a visa before.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent at your consulate appointment
Consular officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia. Having clear ties at home and a defined role scope helps. Relationship Banker positions with wealth management or private client duties can attract additional scrutiny if the role sounds open-ended.
Negotiate employer fee coverage before signing
E-3 filing costs are typically employer-paid, but many banks assume you'll cover your own consular fee. Clarify in writing which fees the employer covers before you accept the offer, so there are no surprises when the process starts.

Find Relationship Banker JobsRelationship Banker E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Relationship Banker jobs offering E-3 sponsorship?
Most job postings don't advertise E-3 sponsorship by name since it's less familiar to U.S. employers than the H-1B. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, surfacing Relationship Banker roles at employers with E-3 and LCA filing history so you're not applying blind to companies that have never navigated the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Relationship Banker role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3?
It can, but the job description has to require a degree in a specific field like finance, economics, or business administration, not just list it as preferred. Generalist customer service roles at banks often don't qualify. Roles tied to investment products, lending analysis, or wealth management have a stronger case because the work is demonstrably tied to the degree field.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Relationship Banker roles?
The E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap pressure, and no registration fee. For a Relationship Banker role, this means you and your employer can time the process around your actual start date rather than waiting for an October 1 H-1B start. The trade-off is that the E-3 is only available to Australian citizens, so your employer will always need to confirm that before proceeding.
Can I change banks while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp or a change of employer before you start with the new bank. You can't simply transfer your existing E-3 to a different employer. If your current visa still has validity, you can continue in the new role once the new LCA is certified, but leaving your current employer before that step creates a status gap.
