Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Senior Product Counsel
Get your credentials recognized before applying
U.S. employers expect bar admission, but your Australian law degree often needs a credential evaluation. Complete a foreign credential evaluation early so hiring managers can confirm your JD-equivalent qualification without delaying the offer stage.
Target in-house legal teams at tech companies
Product counsel roles are concentrated in SaaS, fintech, and consumer tech companies that staff dedicated legal teams. These employers file LCAs routinely and understand E-3 visa sponsorship, unlike smaller firms encountering it for the first time.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Most job boards don't filter by visa type or sponsorship history. Use Migrate Mate to find Senior Product Counsel openings where employers have active E-3 sponsorship experience, so you're not educating a recruiter from scratch.
Clarify bar admission requirements before the offer
Some product counsel roles require active U.S. bar admission, while others accept foreign-qualified lawyers with equivalent experience. Confirm this during interviews, not after an offer, to avoid a last-minute eligibility problem that stalls your LCA filing.
Negotiate who files the LCA with your employer
The DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before your visa application proceeds. Confirm in writing that your employer will file the LCA and cover associated costs, since this is standard practice but not always spelled out in the offer letter.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, including consulate preparation. This keeps your timeline on track and removes the risk of document errors that delay your start date.
E-3 Visa Senior Product Counsel: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Senior Product Counsel jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. It filters openings by employers familiar with the E-3 process, so Senior Product Counsel roles listed there are far more likely to come with an employer willing to file the required LCA and support your visa application.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Product Counsel role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. The E-3 requires the role to be a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Senior Product Counsel positions require a law degree and bar admission, which satisfies that standard. You'll need to document the degree requirement in your LCA filing and provide evidence of your qualifications at the consulate interview.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Senior Product Counsel role?
The H-1B visa requires entering an annual lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate, and cap-subject petitions can only be filed once a year. The E-3 has no lottery and no cap, so you can apply as soon as you have a qualifying offer and a certified LCA. For Australian-qualified lawyers, the E-3 is the faster and more reliable path to a U.S. product counsel role.
Can I transfer my E-3 to a new product counsel role if I change employers?
Yes, but the process starts fresh with each employer. Your new employer must file a new LCA with the DOL and you'll need to attend a new consulate appointment or, if you're already in the U.S., apply for a change of status. There's no portability mechanism like the one available under H-1B, so plan your timeline carefully around any transition.
