E-3 Visa Senior Solutions Engineer Jobs
Senior Solutions Engineer roles sit squarely in E-3 specialty occupation territory, requiring a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Australian professionals can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery, and the visa renews indefinitely as long as you hold a qualifying offer.

- Experience analyzing, developing, and debugging at least 2 of the following: Linux NIC drivers, switch ASICs and SDKs, embedded network device firmware, Linux based network equipment (routers, switches, gateways, etc), network operating systems
- Expert knowledge of Ethernet and IP routing down to the protocol’s byte level
- Ability to analyze and learn evolving end-to-end systems flow, quickly learn how unfamiliar software layers are integrated, and be able to find logic bugs within an increasingly complex environment
- Passion and motivation to isolate, root cause, and resolve high impact issues with executive visibility
- Professional-level communication skills, including adjusting communication to the technical level of the audience, and staying calm and focused in negative situations.
COMPENSATION

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Solutions Engineer
Align your degree to the role
Solutions engineering roles require a degree in a directly related field like computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems. A general business or arts degree won't support the specialty occupation requirement, even if you've been doing the work for years.
Target pre-LCA employers in enterprise tech
Search for U.S. employers who have filed LCAs for solutions engineer or pre-sales engineer roles before. Repeat LCA filers already understand the DOL certification process and won't treat your E-3 as a liability during negotiations.
Get your Australian credentials assessed early
If your bachelor's degree is three years rather than four, get a credential evaluation confirming U.S. equivalency before your employer starts the LCA. Delays at this stage can push back your consulate appointment by weeks.
Negotiate the offer before the LCA is filed
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for the SOC code your employer selects. Confirm the wage level with your employer before the LCA is certified, since changing the salary after filing requires a new application.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
The LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation involve sequential dependencies that are easy to get out of order. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from offer acceptance through to your Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth appointment.
Prepare your nonimmigrant intent before the interview
Solutions engineers at enterprise companies often attract scrutiny over immigrant intent, especially if the role is senior and indefinitely renewable. Have a clear account of your ties to Australia and your genuine intent to return if the employment ends.

Find Senior Solutions Engineer JobsSenior Solutions Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Solutions Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for roles that come with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than manually filtering generic job boards, you can search verified Senior Solutions Engineer listings from employers who already understand the E-3 process, which removes the guesswork from your search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Solutions Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, in most cases. The role must require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems. Where the job description lists a degree as preferred rather than required, or accepts any degree field, the specialty occupation standard may not be met and the employer will need to revisit the position description before filing the LCA.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Senior Solutions Engineers?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there is no lottery and no random selection. H-1B registrations for the same role are subject to an oversubscribed lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. For Australian professionals, the E-3 is a direct path to a U.S. offer without waiting for a registration cycle.
Can I change employers after I start working on an E-3 as a Solutions Engineer?
Yes, but you need a fresh LCA certified by the DOL and a new visa stamp before you start with the new employer, unless you're applying for a change of status from inside the U.S. There is no portability provision like AC21 for E-3 holders, so your authorization is tied to the specific employer and role on your current visa.
