Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Servicenow Developer
Verify your degree maps to the role
The E-3 specialty occupation requirement means your bachelor's degree field must directly support ServiceNow development work. A degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering clears this bar cleanly; a business degree alone typically does not.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for software developer roles through the DOL already understand the E-3 process. Filtering your search to these companies cuts negotiation time and reduces the risk of an employer backing out mid-process.
Get your Australian credentials assessed early
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes, but having a credential evaluation letter ready before your first interview removes any ambiguity the employer's HR team might raise.
Clarify the LCA timeline with your employer
DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days, but your employer needs to initiate it before you can book your consulate appointment. Confirming this step is scheduled within the first week after an offer prevents delays that push back your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA submission, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation in one process. This matters most when your employer's HR team has never sponsored an E-3 and needs a structured workflow to avoid documentation errors.
Address E-3 intent requirements before your interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will assess whether you intend to return to Australia eventually. Preparing a clear, factual answer about your professional plans avoids unnecessary scrutiny at the Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth consulate.

Find Servicenow Developer JobsServicenow Developer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find ServiceNow Developer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for ServiceNow Developer roles where employers have confirmed E-3 sponsorship willingness. Generic job boards don't filter by visa type, so you can spend weeks applying to roles where sponsorship was never on the table. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to E-3 eligibility, saving you that screening time.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does the E-3 visa work differently from the H-1B for ServiceNow Developer roles?
For ServiceNow Developer positions, both visas satisfy the specialty occupation requirement. The practical difference is that the E-3 has no lottery, no annual cap pressure, and can be filed directly through a U.S. consulate in Australia without USCIS petition approval. This means your employer can move from offer to visa approval in weeks rather than waiting for an October start date tied to H-1B lottery results.
Does my ServiceNow certification count toward E-3 specialty occupation eligibility?
Certifications like Certified System Administrator or Certified Application Developer strengthen your application but don't replace the degree requirement. The E-3 specialty occupation standard requires a theoretical and practical body of knowledge typically acquired through a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Your certifications support the case that the role is specialized, but the degree is the baseline.
Can I change ServiceNow Developer employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you need to restart the E-3 process with your new employer before or shortly after switching. Your E-3 status is tied to the specific employer and LCA on file. The new employer files a fresh LCA with the DOL, and you'll typically need a new visa stamp if yours is expiring or if your consulate requires it for the new employer's petition.
