Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Social Media Strategy
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation requirement, but your offer letter must specify the degree field. Clarify to recruiters upfront that your qualification maps to a U.S. four-year degree under USCIS equivalency standards.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for social media or marketing roles. Recent LCA activity signals a hiring team that already understands the E-3 process.
Position your role as a specialty occupation in applications
Social media strategy roles can face specialty occupation scrutiny if the job description is vague. Ask your employer to specify that the role requires a degree in marketing, communications, or digital strategy, not just any bachelor's degree, in the offer letter and LCA.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from certification through consulate preparation. This avoids the common gap where employers agree to sponsor but don't know how to start the filing.
Negotiate sponsorship terms before signing your offer
Confirm in writing whether your employer covers the visa filing fees or passes them to you before you accept. The E-3 requires a certified LCA, a DS-160, and a consulate appointment, so knowing cost responsibility prevents surprises at the filing stage.
Schedule your consulate appointment before your Australian work notice period ends
E-3 consulate appointments at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth can book out several weeks. Start scheduling as soon as your employer submits the LCA to DOL so your visa interview date aligns with your intended U.S. start date.

Find Social Media Strategy JobsSocial Media Strategy E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Social Media Strategy jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Social Media Strategy roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't distinguish between visa types, which wastes time on roles where sponsorship was never an option. Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have actively hired or are open to hiring on the E-3, so your outreach goes to the right places from the start.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Social Media Strategy role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the job description matters. USCIS requires that the position normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as marketing, communications, or digital strategy. Generic titles like 'social media coordinator' with broad duties are more likely to face scrutiny than roles with degree-specific requirements written into the offer letter and LCA.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Social Media Strategy professionals?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual cap that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and no random selection. The H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate for most applicants. For Australian social media professionals, the E-3 means you can start at any point in the year after receiving an offer, not just October 1 following a March lottery result.
Can I switch social media employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and a new visa stamp for the incoming employer before you start. Unlike some visa categories, the E-3 doesn't allow portability between employers under the same petition. If your new role is substantially different in duties or level, your employer will need to establish specialty occupation from scratch, so build in lead time before your last day.
