Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Producer
Frame your reel for specialty occupation
U.S. consular officers assess whether your Producer role requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just broad creative experience. Structure your portfolio and credential documents to show the direct link between your degree field and the production work you'll be doing.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Studios, networks, and production companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications before are already familiar with E-3 sponsorship requirements. Search DOL's public disclosure data to identify which employers in your target sector have a track record of sponsoring work visas.
Get your Australian degree assessed early
A three-year Australian bachelor's in film, media, or communications is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but your employer's attorney may request a formal credential evaluation. Commission this before you receive an offer so it doesn't delay your LCA filing.
Negotiate the sponsorship conversation at offer stage
Many U.S. production employers haven't sponsored an E-3 specifically, even if they've hired on H-1B. Bring the distinction to the table: no lottery, no cap, employer costs are lower, and the LCA certifies quickly. Addressing this at offer stage prevents the sponsorship question from stalling negotiations.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA
The LCA must be certified by DOL before you can book your consulate appointment, and errors in the job title or wage level can trigger delays. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the LCA, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation so the process moves without gaps.
Plan your consulate timing around production cycles
U.S. productions often have hard start dates tied to pre-production schedules. Book your consulate appointment in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth immediately after your LCA is certified, not after you've confirmed a start date, to avoid slipping past your employer's hiring window.

Find Producer JobsProducer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Producer jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter Producer roles by employers with E-3 sponsorship history so you're not applying cold to companies that have never navigated the process. Most general job boards don't surface sponsorship status at all, which means you can't tell whether a listing is realistic for an Australian applicant until you're already in the interview process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Producer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the position is defined. A Producer role qualifies when the employer can demonstrate that the job normally requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as film production, communications, or media studies, and that your degree matches. Generalist production coordinator roles that accept any degree are harder to support. The job description your employer writes for the LCA filing is critical to establishing this.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Producer roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, no cap, and no random selection process, which means an employer who wants to hire you can do so in any calendar year rather than waiting on a lottery outcome. For Producers working in competitive production cycles with specific start dates, this is a practical advantage. The E-3 is limited to Australian citizens, while the H-1B is open to any nationality, but if you're Australian the E-3 is the faster and more predictable path.
Can I change employers or productions on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each new employer must file a new LCA and your visa is tied to that specific employer's sponsorship. If you move between a studio, network, or production company, the new employer needs to start the process from scratch. You can begin working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and, if you're already in the U.S., after you've returned to Australia for a new visa stamp reflecting the updated sponsorship.
