Align your degree to the role
Your Australian bachelor's degree must match the specialty occupation the employer defines in the LCA. A degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or industrial engineering supports the filing. A general business degree may require your employer to narrow the job description.
Search for employers with LCA history
DOL's public LCA disclosure data shows which companies have filed for supply chain roles before. Employers already familiar with the E-3 visa process move faster from offer to visa filing than those encountering it for the first time.
Clarify the specialty occupation framing early
Some Supply Chain Associate postings list a degree as preferred rather than required. Ask the hiring manager before your final interview to confirm the role will be defined as requiring a bachelor's degree, since that language must appear in the LCA the employer files with DOL.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a signed offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA preparation, DS-160 guidance, and consulate appointment prep end-to-end, so your employer doesn't need prior E-3 experience to sponsor you correctly.
Prepare your Australian credential documentation
Bring your official university transcripts and degree certificate to your consulate interview. Consular officers assess whether your Australian three-year bachelor's degree satisfies the U.S. specialty occupation standard, so a credential evaluation letter from a NACES-approved evaluator reduces the risk of a 221(g) request.
Time your application around consulate wait times
E-3 visas are processed at Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, with appointment availability varying by location and season. Book your appointment as soon as your employer receives LCA certification from DOL to avoid delays between your offer acceptance and your U.S. start date.
E-3 Visa Supply Chain Associate: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Supply Chain Associate jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Supply Chain Associate roles from employers open to E-3 sponsorship, filtering out positions where sponsorship isn't available. Because the E-3 requires employer action before your consulate appointment, targeting companies already familiar with the LCA process shortens the time from offer to visa significantly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Supply Chain Associate role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It qualifies when the employer defines the role as requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, logistics, or operations. Roles framed around general coordination tasks without a degree requirement won't support an E-3 filing, so the job description the employer submits to DOL in the LCA matters as much as your credentials.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Supply Chain Associate positions?
The E-3 has a 10,500-visa annual allocation that has never been exhausted, so there's no lottery and no waiting for a registration result. H-1B visa filings for the same role enter a randomised lottery with a selection rate well under 50 percent. For Australian professionals, the E-3 means a job offer translates directly into a filing without competition from other applicants.
Can I switch Supply Chain Associate employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S. if your current visa has expired. If your visa stamp is still valid and the new role qualifies as a specialty occupation, you can change employers and begin working once the new LCA is certified, without leaving the country first.
