Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Transition Specialist
Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Your Australian degree must map to the specific Transition Specialist role, not just any related field. A degree in counseling, organizational psychology, or human resource development strengthens your specialty occupation argument far more than a general business credential.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify employers who have filed LCAs for Transition Specialist or related workforce development titles. Prior LCA activity signals an employer already understands the E-3 sponsorship process.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Transition Specialist roles with E-3 sponsorship are scattered across government contractors, outplacement firms, and large HR departments. Use Migrate Mate to search verified E-3 sponsoring employers so you're only applying where sponsorship is genuinely on offer.
Prepare your credential documentation before offer stage
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but your employer will need documentation confirming this for the LCA. Gather official transcripts and, if your degree is in a related discipline, a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator.
Confirm the LCA is filed before your consulate appointment
Your employer must file and receive a certified LCA from the DOL before you can attend your visa interview. Consulate appointments booked without a certified LCA in hand will stall your start date, so coordinate your timeline with HR and use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork without delays.
Address nonimmigrant intent directly at your interview
Transition Specialists who coach employees through career changes sometimes face consular questions about long-term U.S. intent. Prepare clear, specific answers about your role's temporary nature and your ties to Australia, since the E-3 requires demonstrating nonimmigrant intent at each renewal.

Find Transition Specialist JobsTransition Specialist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Transition Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Most job postings don't advertise E-3 sponsorship by name, which makes filtering by employer sponsorship history the most reliable approach. Migrate Mate surfaces Transition Specialist roles at employers with verified E-3 and LCA filing records, so you can focus your applications on organizations that have already navigated the process rather than educating employers from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Transition Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the classification depends on how the role is defined and what degree requirement the employer attaches to it. Roles grounded in organizational psychology, human resources, vocational rehabilitation, or counseling, where a specific bachelor's degree in that field is genuinely required, have a strong specialty occupation argument. Generic coaching or coordination titles without a firm degree requirement in a specific discipline are harder to defend.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Transition Specialist roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, so there's no random selection event between you and a job offer. The H-1B runs through an annual cap lottery with a roughly 25 percent selection rate. For Transition Specialist roles, where the specialty occupation argument can be nuanced, avoiding the H-1B lottery also means you don't spend months in limbo waiting to find out whether you even have a path forward.
Can I transfer my E-3 to a new Transition Specialist employer?
Yes, but the process starts fresh with each employer. Your new employer files a new LCA with the DOL and you obtain a new E-3 visa stamp, typically through a consulate appointment in Australia or at a third-country post. There's no transfer or portability mechanism like the one available under certain H-1B change-of-employer rules, so factor that timeline into any job change decision.
