Entry Level Electronic Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level electronic engineer job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for candidates who can demonstrate hands-on skills, whether through coursework projects, internships, or personal builds. A portfolio showing circuit design, PCB layout, or embedded systems work gives you a concrete edge over candidates with only a transcript. Tailor your resume to the tools each job listing names, such as SPICE simulation software, MATLAB, or specific microcontroller platforms, and apply to roles that explicitly welcome new graduates.
Which companies hire entry level electronic engineers?
Companies hiring entry level electronic engineers right now include County of San Mateo, UBS, and Amentum, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers large defense contractors, consumer electronics manufacturers, and mid-size engineering firms that run structured new-graduate programs.
Are there remote entry level electronic engineer jobs?
Yes, though most entry level electronic engineer roles are on-site given the lab and hardware requirements of the work. About 32% of entry level electronic engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Software-adjacent roles such as firmware development or embedded systems testing tend to offer the most flexibility.
Are these new grad electronic engineer jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior electronic engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-op terms toward its requirements, or accepts a strong portfolio in place of full-time work history. If a listing says 'new grad' or 'no experience required,' it belongs in this category.
Which industries hire the most entry level electronic engineers?
Entry Level electronic engineer roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Education, and Automotive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they rely on continuous product development cycles and regularly bring on junior engineers to support design, testing, and manufacturing teams.
