Responsibilities:
MV Transportation is seeking an Electronics Technician who will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic systems: Drive Cam, SEON video recorders, two-way radios, Trapeze MDT (AVL) system, Mobile Eye Collision Avoidance, tablets, and on-board wireless equipment ensuring they function efficiently and safely. Company paid training, general ability and experience with Electronics and computers needed for vehicles.
- Completes scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance / p.m.’s on all electronic systems, subassemblies and control devices.
- Inspects, diagnoses, removes and repairs electronic systems, equipment and devices.
- Determines the source of trouble. Diagnose malfunctions in electronic systems and equipment, performing tests and repairs as necessary.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts or makes changes as instructed.
- Uses testing equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, test bench and mock-up).
- Executes field repairs on road failures as needed.
- Work closely and collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to develop and improve electronic systems and components.
- Maintain detailed logs of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Train and educate colleagues on the proper handling and maintenance of electronic equipment and assist in training new technicians.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: An associates degree in Electronics Technology or a related field is typically preferred. Certification from recognized institutions can enhance job prospects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, using various hand and power tools, and understanding electronics systems and components.
- Knowledge of electronics to perform inspections, diagnosis, removal and repair of equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Must have own hand tools; major items supplied.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to follow complex technical manuals and ensure precision in repairs and installations.
- Valid state Driver's license.
- Ability to pass and maintain a CDL Class B license.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
