Position Overview
Sydor Technologies is seeking a hands-on Electronics Technician to assemble, solder, test, troubleshoot, and support advanced imaging and measurement systems used in scientific research, defense, energy, and high-speed diagnostic applications.
This role is ideal for someone with strong electronics assembly and soldering experience who enjoys working with complex systems and developing a broad technical skill set. Candidates with troubleshooting and diagnostic experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision soldering of electronic components, assemblies, and subassemblies
- Assemble electro-mechanical systems from drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Install, wire, and integrate electronic components and assemblies
- Perform system and sub-system testing and validation
- Troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and specifications are met
- Analyze and document test results
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet project milestones
- Support continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes
What Success Looks Like
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, enjoys working hands-on, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
You don't need experience with every technology we use, but you should be comfortable:
- Performing electronics assembly and soldering work with a high degree of quality
- Reading schematics and technical documentation
- Working with wiring, circuit boards, and electronic components
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues
- Supporting testing, integration, and repair activities
- Working independently while collaborating effectively with engineers and technicians
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (or higher) in Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related technical field
OR
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, soldering, testing, troubleshooting, repair, manufacturing, engineering support, or a related technical role
Desired Skills
- Strong soldering and electronics assembly experience
- Experience working with printed circuit boards, wiring, and electronic components
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience troubleshooting electronic systems
- Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Surface mount (SMT) soldering experience
- Optical assembly experience
- Motion control systems experience
- Experience supporting engineering, R&D, or low-volume manufacturing environments
- Exposure to chemistry, laboratory, or scientific testing environments
- Military electronics, avionics, or technical maintenance experience
