The Electronics and Environmental (E&E) Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the electrical and environmental systems of Company F-16 aircraft. This role is crucial for the safety, efficiency, and reliability of aircraft operations, contributing to safe and optimal flying for our aircrew. The information below is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required for this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and isolate integrated avionics and/or electrical systems malfunctions and analyze performance.
- Remove, repair and replace functional components such as power generation and support systems wire harnesses and connectors, bleed air and air conditioning ducting, oxygen/environmental systems tubing and line replaceable units, Electric/ECS turbines, valves and generators. May be called upon to prioritize the completion of work in progress.
- Operate integrated avionics systems and/or electrical systems to determine operational condition.

Interpret equipment operation to isolate malfunctions in systems such as power distribution, lighting, fire detection, attack control, instrument, flight control, communications, navigation, and penetration aids.
- Exercise judgement and expertise to determine feasibility and method of repairing, replacing, and rebuilds of malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Perform complete repairs and calibrations, including but not limited to total disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment and components.
- Trace data flow and wiring diagrams. Inspects, troubleshoots, and maintains aircraft wiring systems.
- Use built-in test functions, electronic measuring equipment, support aerospace ground equipment (AGE), and hand tools.
- Monitor equipment performance and detect and analyze malfunctions.
- Remove, install, align, and check integrated avionics systems and electrical systems.
- Remove and install line replaceable units and aligns systems.
- Operationally check externally mounted avionics equipment and boresights systems.
- Perform intermediate or organizational maintenance level modifications as detailed in the client maintenance operations manual. May be asked to assist in advanced to extreme repairs.
- Inspect integrated avionics systems, posts entries, and maintains inspection and maintenance records.
- Inspect avionics systems and determine operational status.
- Interpret inspection findings and determines corrective action adequacy.
- Review maintenance management publications and procedures to obtain avionics systems information.
- Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
- Use automated maintenance systems. Input, validate, and analyze data processed to
- automated systems.
- Clear and close out completed maintenance discrepancies in automated maintenance systems.
- Accountable for both executing and assessing the quality of work related to components, ensuring they are in satisfactory condition. Will provide training, technical guidance and OJT to client technicians.
- Ensure all replacement parts are inspected, eligible, and properly certified prior to installation.
- Ensure removed parts are properly tagged and routed to quarantine.
- Complete and certify work reports for all work accomplished on the aircraft.
- Carry out both line and heavy maintenance activities in accordance with operational standards.
- Demonstrate adherence to OSHA and OH&S requirements, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate and properly maintained tools. Report hazards or potential safety risks to a supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a working knowledge of electronic and mechanical systems and components on the F-16 aircraft.
- Must be able to perform ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing.
- Proven track record of success working on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while fostering a positive attitude.
- Must have strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of an E&E Technician II in daily work performance.
- Must be able to work in various weather environments and conditions.
- Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
- Military Electrical and Environmental Technical school graduate with 5 years’ direct experience working as an F-16 E&E Technician.
- USAF 5 Level upon military separation, E&E 7 Level preferred.
WORK CONDITIONS
- This position requires overseas deployment where the Technician will perform.
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively and self-sufficiently in a foreign environment, including communication, local navigation, and personal sustainability.
SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret and appropriate host nation clearance(s). Ongoing eligibility is subject to periodic review. Strict adherence to all security protocols, procedures, and training is required.
- Must possess a valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions, limitations, or disqualifications, with a validity extending a minimum 6 months beyond the projected assignment completion date.
- Must be able to secure all required work authorizations, including a valid work visa for the host country. Any prior immigration violations, criminal offenses, or adverse travel history that may prevent entry will not be considered.
- Adherence to the legal, regulatory, safety, and operational requirements of the host nation is mandatory throughout the duration of assignment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, talk, walk, hear, see, and reach with hands and arms.
- This position requires close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- This role is performed in hazardous duty locations, around loud noises and hazardous chemicals with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The Aircraft Technician III must be able to work in environments with exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- This position may require working in environments where combat-related personal protective equipment is issued and must be worn, such as ballistic vests, helmets, or other protective gear. The Technician must be able to properly don, wear, and operate effectively while using such equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work conditions may require quick movement or repositioning in response to safety, operational, or environmental needs.
- Duties may involve standing, walking, bending, climbing, or working in confined or elevated areas for extended periods.
- The essential duties and responsibilities are performed in a dynamic, high-tempo environment, while earing required protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, employment verification, security clearance, reference checks, and other conditions determined by the company.
- This position is contingent upon contract award. An offer of employment may be extended prior to award; however, employment will be contingent upon the Company's award and subsequent contract funding.
