Electronics Technician Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an electronics technician in Florida?
Florida does not require a state-issued license specifically for electronics technicians, so the path focuses on education and credentials recognized by employers. Most hiring managers expect at least an associate degree in electronics technology or a closely related field from a Florida community college or technical college. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CET from the Electronics Technicians Association, or IPC soldering standards strengthen any application, and defense-sector roles often require the ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
Which companies hire electronics technicians in Florida?
Companies currently hiring electronics technicians in Florida include GE Aerospace, Mettler-Toledo, and Parsons, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of aerospace primes, naval contractors, and medical device manufacturers means demand stays broad across both large corporations and specialized defense subcontractors throughout the state.
Which Florida cities have the most electronics technician jobs?
Lutz, Clearwater, and Melbourne lead Florida for electronics technician openings. Tampa and Orlando benefit from large defense and simulation-technology campuses, while Melbourne sits at the center of Florida's Space Coast corridor where L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and related contractors drive consistent hiring for avionics and electronic systems roles.
Are there remote electronics technician jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Electronics technician work is fundamentally hands-on, requiring physical access to equipment, circuits, and test benches, so most Florida roles are fully on-site. About 18% of electronics technician openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be technical support, documentation, or quality-review functions rather than active repair or installation work.
How can I get hired as an electronics technician in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing an electronics technology program at a Florida community college such as Valencia College, Broward College, or Hillsborough Community College, then targeting entry-level titles like electronics assembler, bench technician, or field service helper. Large Florida defense employers and medical device companies frequently hire recent graduates into structured apprentice or associate technician roles. Earning an IPC soldering certification or a CompTIA A+ before applying gives candidates a concrete credential that compensates for limited work history.
Where can I find and apply to electronics technician jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to electronics technician jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the roles that fit your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that match.
