An established marine electronics company in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Electronics Technician to join its growing team. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity for a technician who has served as the go-to specialist working on large motor yachts, with strong experience troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning sophisticated marine electronics systems.
In this role, you will work primarily on larger motor yachts, typically 80–180+ ft, managing marine electronics projects from initial survey and troubleshooting through installation, commissioning, and ongoing support. Systems supported include navigation, communications, NMEA and IP networks, WiFi, Starlink/5G connectivity, audio/video, and related onboard technology.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and install marine electronics on 80–180+ ft yachts throughout South Florida
- Work with equipment from manufacturers such as Garmin, Furuno, Raymarine, Simrad, Peplink, Starlink, Crestron, JL Audio, and similar systems
- Design, install, and troubleshoot NMEA 2000 and IP-based networks
- Troubleshoot onboard WiFi, networking, connectivity, and IP devices
- Support yacht refits, yard periods, and new-build projects
- Document completed work and update technical drawings
- Communicate professionally with captains, owners, project managers, and other marine professionals
- Travel occasionally for vessel support and project work
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of recent marine electronics experience on yachts
- Hands-on experience with major marine electronics manufacturers such as Garmin, Furuno, Raymarine, Simrad, and/or similar systems
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with NMEA 2000, onboard networks, WiFi, and IP-connected equipment
- NMEA and/or manufacturer certifications preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Ability to work full-time on-site in the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County area
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Authorization to work in the United States
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay of $30–$43, based on experience
- Sign-on bonus of $5,000 payable after 180 days of successful full-time employment
