THE POSITION

The Head of Tech for Core Marketing Platform will spearhead the workstream responsible for the FanDuel Marketing Platform (CMP)—the foundational technology that powers our core generosity and marketing experience. As the platform underpinning FDG future growth, CMP is mission-critical to delivering seamless, high-performance personalized and real-time generosity and other marketing products at scale.
This workstream plays a vital role in driving the Audience experience and audience growth for our core product experiences. The Head of Tech will drive strategic investments in platform infrastructure, including the modernization and evolution of CPP (Cross Product Promotions) to enable secure, reliable, and next generation of marketing technology and product features.
Given the foundational nature of this function, the Head of Tech will lead an area deeply interwoven with multiple parts of the business. Success in this role hinges on the ability to build trusted partnerships across teams and domains, influencing senior leaders and collaborating on solutions to meet complex and evolving cross-functional needs.
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

- Driving a collaborative, efficient, and continually improving test function that complements and works in partnership with engineering and wider teams to ensure the rapid delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Driving consistent high performance and engineering excellence from the technical teams, you will lead by example in displaying the flexibility and desire to take advantage of new technologies as they emerge.
- Develop and own the engineering strategy in conjunction with other Heads of Technology, ensuring this has sufficient input, visibility, and engagement.
- Working with other Head of Technology, develop an active community of engineering practice within the division, focusing on the continual improvement of all activities and processes that involve engineers.
- Lead with a people-first approach, developing a high-caliber team through effective recruitment, training, and coaching.
- Ensure fit-for-purpose engineering practices and pipelines are in place for your domain.
- Contribute to the identification and effective management of engineering and wider technology risks, taking ownership and driving actions to deliver effective mitigations.
- Use strong leadership skills, empowering colleagues to drive positive change and forging collaborative working between Transformation and BAU initiatives and teams.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained and governance is applied in line with both legislative and business-wide requirements.
- Work closely with the Operations function to ensure high levels of uptime, rapid resolution of customer-facing issues, and a strong focus established and maintained on service quality, reliability, and stability.
- Responsible for ensuring technical expertise is applied in troubleshooting, incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident decisions and actions.
- Work closely with the Head of Delivery to ensure that effective delivery practices are implemented across the engineering function.
- Measure and improve engineering metrics by implementing strong foundation for engineering practices and data collection using delivery tools.
- Build strong partnership with product team and support the evolution of product discipline.

- Previous Senior Management or Director level experience is preferred.
- You will be experienced in leading technology teams and have a successful track record of delivering complex technology projects and programs through multi-disciplinary teams using agile, lean software and design-thinking development methodologies.
- An ability to nurture and enhance the capabilities of your team, ensuring you grow their skills and support their career development.
- You thrive on responsibility and completing tasks in a timely manner with good, clear communication.
- You are equally comfortable working independently and, in a team, to deliver excellence, working across boundaries and within the Tribe Leadership Team.
- Your ability to set priorities and focus teams on what is most important while maintaining resilience under pressure will be key for this role.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to understand and relay strategic objectives and plans and drive alignment.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical challenges in a simple and effective manner.
- Open mindset for implementing AI (Artificial Intelligence) in all aspects of SDLC.

The applicable salary range for this position is $197,000 - $258,300 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
