Engineering Technician Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a engineering technician in Colorado?
Most Colorado employers require at least an associate degree in engineering technology, electronics, or a related field, often from a community college such as Front Range Community College or Pikes Peak State College. There is no single state-issued engineering technician license in Colorado, but roles in aerospace and defense frequently require a security clearance, and quality-focused positions value credentials like the ASQC Certified Quality Technician. Completing an internship or co-op with a Front Range employer is the most direct path into full-time work.
Which companies hire engineering technicians in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring engineering technicians in Colorado include Jobot, NEOTech, and RMSL, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's heavy concentration of aerospace primes, defense contractors, and energy technology firms keeps demand for engineering technicians consistently high across the Front Range.
Which Colorado cities have the most engineering technician jobs?
Denver, Littleton, and Colorado Springs have the most engineering technician openings in Colorado. Denver anchors the market through its aerospace, energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors, Colorado Springs draws heavily from defense contractors clustered around Peterson Space Force Base and Schriever, and Boulder attracts technicians supporting research institutions and clean-energy companies.
Are there remote engineering technician jobs in Colorado?
Yes, but they're rare. About 13% of engineering technician openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, because most of the work involves hands-on lab testing, equipment calibration, or on-site production support. The sub-set of roles most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements are those focused on data analysis, technical documentation, or quality systems management.
How can I get hired as a engineering technician in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a two-year engineering technology program at a Colorado community college, paired with an internship or co-op at a Front Range aerospace or manufacturing employer. Lockheed Martin and Raytheon both run structured intern-to-hire pipelines out of their Littleton and Aurora facilities. Candidates transitioning from electronics repair, military technical roles, or manufacturing inspection find the lateral move straightforward. An A+ or CompTIA certification, or a completed AutoCAD course, gives an edge over other early-career applicants.
Where can I find and apply to engineering technician jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to engineering technician jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings across aerospace, defense, energy, and manufacturing. Find the roles that fit your background and experience and apply directly to each one.
