Enterprise Architect Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a enterprise architect in Florida?
Enterprise architecture is not a state-licensed profession in Florida, so there is no Florida-specific board exam or registration required. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, combined with several years of progressively senior IT roles. Earning a TOGAF certification from The Open Group is the most widely recognized credential and gives Florida candidates a concrete edge when competing for architecture positions at large employers.
How much do enterprise architects make in Florida?
Enterprise architects in Florida earn a median of about $138,320 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $85,880 for the lowest 10% to over $206,410 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire enterprise architects in Florida?
Employers hiring enterprise architects in Florida right now include Qode, Cognizant, and BankUnited, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of defense contractors, large healthcare systems, and financial services firms means enterprise architect roles here frequently involve regulated-industry compliance requirements alongside traditional architecture responsibilities.
Which Florida cities have the most enterprise architect jobs?
Tampa, Pensacola, and Boca Raton have the most enterprise architect openings in Florida. Miami drives demand through its financial services and international business headquarters, Tampa through its defense contracting and insurance sector, and Orlando through its growing technology corridor and large healthcare and hospitality enterprises that require complex integration architecture.
Are there remote enterprise architect jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most technical fields, since enterprise architecture is fundamentally a planning and advisory discipline that translates well to distributed work. About 78% of enterprise architect openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's document-heavy and consultative nature. Strategic planning, architecture roadmaps, and governance work are the tasks most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a enterprise architect in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a senior systems analyst, solutions engineer, or IT infrastructure role into a junior or associate architect position. Florida's large employers in healthcare, such as AdventHealth and HCA Florida, and defense firms like Lockheed Martin and L3Harris, regularly bring in candidates from adjacent technical roles for architecture associate programs. Completing a TOGAF foundation certificate and building a portfolio of documented architecture decisions from previous roles makes a significant difference when competing without a formal architecture title.
Where can I find and apply to enterprise architect jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to enterprise architect jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and experience levels. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and location preference, and apply directly to each posting without any additional steps required.
