Abraham’s Equine Clinic is a well-established, full-service equine veterinary practice located on 29 acres in southeastern Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The practice combines the capabilities of a comprehensive equine hospital with an extensive reproductive program, providing veterinarians the opportunity to work with a diverse and interesting caseload.
Abraham’s Equine Clinic is seeking an Equine Veterinarian with experience in reproduction to join our established team and support our growing reproductive program.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Full-Time Position - spend approximately 4-6 months of the year primarily working within our Reproduction Center, with the remainder of the year practicing general equine medicine alongside our team at the main hospital.

Seasonal Reproduction Position - for veterinarians looking for greater flexibility, the position can be structured as a seasonal 4-6-month commitment, providing reproductive veterinary support during our busy breeding season.

The Reproduction Center at Abraham’s Equine Clinic is one of the largest equine reproductive facilities in the Midwest and is home to a number of leading stallion programs.
Our dedicated breeding facility is designed to support a high-volume, progressive reproduction program and is backed by experienced staff, advanced equipment, and the resources needed to provide exceptional reproductive care.
Depending upon experience and interests, the veterinarian may be involved with:
- Mare reproductive management and breeding soundness evaluations
- Artificial insemination using fresh, cooled, and frozen semen
- Ultrasound and reproductive examinations
- Stallion reproductive management
- Semen collection, evaluation, processing, and shipping
- Pregnancy diagnosis and management
- Problem mare and infertility cases
- Foaling and neonatal care
- General equine practice outside of breeding season for the full-time position
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- DVM/VMD or equivalent, eligible for licensure in Iowa
- Specialty training in reproduction techniques, including high success rates with embryo transfer preferred
- Accomplished veterinary professional with passion for progressive equine medicine
- Motivated and dedicated to outstanding client service and patient care, you enjoy interacting and building relationships with clientele and coworkers
