Estimator Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an estimator job in Orlando?
Target Orlando's busiest hiring sectors: commercial construction, hospitality infrastructure, and civil contractors working around the I-4 corridor and Lake Nona. General contractors, specialty subcontractors, and large-scale resort operators hire most consistently here. Candidates who know local building codes, have experience pricing Florida construction materials, and can show a portfolio of completed bids move faster in this market than generalist applicants.
Which companies hire estimators in Orlando?
Companies currently hiring estimators in Orlando include Jobot, CPPI, and Hays, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's hiring mix leans heavily toward commercial general contractors, civil engineering firms, and hospitality development groups tied to the theme park and resort industry.
Are there remote estimator jobs in Orlando?
Yes, but only for certain specialties. Estimating is largely site-dependent, so fully remote roles are uncommon for field-heavy positions, though desk-based quantity takeoff and cost analysis work is more flexible. About 39% of estimator openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote options most common among insurance restoration estimators and software-driven takeoff specialists.
How can I get an estimator job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is joining a specialty subcontractor, such as a mechanical, electrical, or drywall contractor, as an estimating assistant or project coordinator. Orlando's active construction pipeline means smaller firms regularly hire candidates willing to learn on the job. Familiarity with takeoff software like Bluebeam and a construction-related associate degree or vocational certificate gives entry-level applicants a clear advantage locally.
Which industries hire the most estimators in Orlando?
Orlando estimator roles concentrate in Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's continuous investment in hospitality, theme park expansion, and infrastructure along the I-4 corridor keeps demand for estimators in those sectors consistently above the national average.
