Finance Intern Jobs in Alabama: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance intern in Alabama?
The concrete path to a finance intern role in Alabama starts with enrollment in a business, finance, or accounting program at an accredited Alabama institution such as the University of Alabama, Auburn University, or UAB. Alabama does not require a state license for internship-level finance work, but completing relevant coursework in financial accounting, corporate finance, and Excel-based modeling is what most Alabama employers look for when selecting candidates.
Which companies hire finance interns in Alabama?
Alabama finance intern roles are posted by CVS Health, Republic Finance, and UAB Medicine and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Birmingham's concentration of banking, insurance, and energy companies makes it the most consistent source of structured finance internship programs in the state.
Which Alabama cities have the most finance intern jobs?
Huntsville, Birmingham, and Mobile account for the largest share of finance intern openings in Alabama. Birmingham leads because it is home to major financial institutions and corporate headquarters, while Huntsville's growing defense and technology sector has created demand for finance support roles, and Montgomery draws openings from state government agencies and regional banking operations.
Are there remote finance intern jobs in Alabama?
Yes, and more than some fields, since finance intern work is largely desk-based and analytical. About 29% of finance intern openings tied to Alabama are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the broader shift in corporate finance toward flexible arrangements. The tasks most commonly done remotely include financial modeling, data analysis, and report preparation.
How can I get hired as a finance intern in Alabama with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured summer internship programs run by Alabama's largest financial employers, including Regions Financial, Protective Life, and Harbert Management Corporation, which regularly recruit students with no prior professional finance experience. Completing foundational coursework in accounting and Excel, building a simple financial model as a portfolio piece, and pursuing a Bloomberg Market Concepts certificate give Alabama candidates a concrete edge over those with coursework alone.
Where can I find and apply to finance intern jobs in Alabama?
