Finance Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a finance job in Los Angeles?
Focus your search on the clusters where Los Angeles finance hiring is most active: investment banking and private equity boutiques in Century City, corporate finance and treasury roles at entertainment and media companies in Burbank and Culver City, and asset management firms on the Westside. Candidates with CFA progress, proficiency in financial modeling, and experience in entertainment, real estate, or private equity gain a clear edge in this market over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire finances in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles finance roles are posted by Netflix, ghj, and JPMorganChase and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The employer mix here is distinctive, combining major entertainment studios, private equity and venture firms, regional banks, and large corporate headquarters across industries such as real estate, healthcare, and logistics.
Are there remote finance jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the function: analytical and FP&A roles are more remote-compatible, while treasury, audit, and investment banking positions typically require in-office presence. About 65% of finance openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid schedules most common at larger corporate employers in the Downtown and Westside corridors.
How can I get a finance job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is targeting financial analyst or accounting associate roles at mid-size entertainment companies, real estate investment firms, or regional insurance carriers, all of which hire entry-level candidates and promote from within. Internships at studios like NBCUniversal or at real estate private equity shops in Century City carry strong local name recognition. A strong Excel foundation, exposure to financial modeling, and a CFA Level I attempt noticeably improve early-career candidacy here.
Which industries hire the most finances in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles finance roles concentrate in Technology & Software and Media & Entertainment, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. This mix reflects the city's economic profile, where entertainment and media create heavy demand for production finance and royalty accounting, while the large commercial real estate sector and a growing private equity community sustain steady demand for deal-focused and corporate finance talent.
