Houston's hiring mix skews toward integrated energy majors, oilfield services firms, large nonprofit health networks, and regional financial institutions, giving analysts a wider range of industries than most U.S. cities.
Are there remote financial analyst jobs in Houston?
Yes, financial analyst work is largely desk-based and analytical, making it more remote-compatible than most roles. About 29% of financial analyst openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, though fully remote positions are more common at corporate holding companies and tech-adjacent firms than at energy operators requiring on-site budget collaboration.
How can I get a financial analyst job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is landing a junior financial analyst or financial reporting analyst role at one of the city's large hospital systems or midsize energy companies, both of which recruit recent graduates regularly. Rotational finance programs at Houston-based energy majors and internships at regional accounting firms are also common on-ramps. Proficiency in Excel modeling and familiarity with energy or healthcare cost structures sharpens your application in this market.
