Mid Level Financial Counselor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level financial counselor job?
Lead with specific outcomes from your existing work, such as caseload volume managed, client retention rates improved, or programs you redesigned. Employers hiring at this level want to see that you own client relationships independently, handle complex financial situations without close oversight, and have contributed meaningfully to team or organizational goals. Tailor your resume to reflect depth, not just duration.
Which companies hire mid level financial counselors?
Companies hiring mid level financial counselors right now include Alexander Youth Network, Sun River Health, and Naphcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from hospitals and health systems, nonprofit credit counseling agencies, banks, and large employers offering employee financial wellness programs.
Are there remote mid level financial counselor jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and service model. About 3% of mid level financial counselor openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with telehealth-adjacent and nonprofit financial wellness organizations leading that shift. Roles requiring in-person client sessions, such as hospital-based counseling, still lean on-site.
How do I move up to a mid level financial counselor role?
The path from entry level to mid level comes from building a consistent record of independent client management, taking on cases with greater complexity, and demonstrating measurable impact such as improved debt resolution outcomes or client plan completion rates. Earning a relevant certification, such as an AFC or CCRC credential, and volunteering to lead projects or train newer staff accelerates the transition.
Which industries hire the most mid level financial counselors?
Mid Level financial counselor roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors hire at the mid level because their client populations, whether patients managing medical debt or employees navigating benefits, require counselors who can handle nuanced, high-stakes situations with confidence and consistency.
