Financial Representative Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial representative in Louisiana?
To become a financial representative in Louisiana, you typically need a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, followed by state-specific licensing. The Louisiana Department of Insurance issues life and health insurance licenses after you pass the state exam. If you will sell securities, FINRA registration through the Series 6 or Series 7 exam is also required before you can work with clients.
Which companies hire financial representatives in Louisiana?
Companies currently hiring financial representatives in Louisiana include Fidelity Bank, Northwestern Mutual, and Attain Finance, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Which Louisiana cities have the most financial representative jobs?
New Orleans, Metairie, and Slidell have the most financial representative openings in Louisiana. New Orleans drives the largest share of listings given its dense concentration of regional banks, insurance carriers, and independent advisory firms, while Baton Rouge benefits from state government-linked financial services and large healthcare institutions that employ benefits-focused representatives.
How can I get hired as a financial representative in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a financial representative trainee or associate role with a major insurance carrier or regional bank that sponsors licensing. Firms like New York Life and Northwestern Mutual run structured Louisiana development programs that cover your Louisiana Department of Insurance exam prep.
