Financial Representative Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial representative in Kentucky?
To become a financial representative in Kentucky, you need a Kentucky insurance producer license through the Kentucky Department of Insurance, which requires completing pre-licensing education and passing the state licensing exam. Most roles also require FINRA registrations such as the Series 6 or Series 63, sponsored by your employer. A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or economics is standard, though some employers will hire candidates who are willing to complete licensing before their start date.
Which companies hire financial representatives in Kentucky?
Companies currently hiring financial representatives in Kentucky include World Finance, Northwestern Mutual, and Commonwealth Credit Union, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Kentucky's mix of large insurers, regional banks, and credit unions means openings appear consistently across both the Louisville metro and smaller markets like Bowling Green and Owensboro.
Which Kentucky cities have the most financial representative jobs?
Lexington, Frankfort, and Henderson lead Kentucky in financial representative openings. Louisville drives the largest share of listings given its concentration of insurance headquarters, regional bank operations, and wealth management firms, while Lexington's growing professional services sector and Bowling Green's expanding commercial base account for a meaningful share of openings outside the state's largest metro.
Are there remote financial representative jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical fields because financial representative work often involves in-person client meetings and relationship building. About 50% of financial representative openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the remote roles concentrated in inside sales, phone-based financial advising, and customer service-adjacent positions rather than full wealth management or insurance advisory roles.
How can I get hired as a financial representative in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a licensing-supported training program at a large Kentucky insurer or bank, where the employer sponsors your Kentucky insurance producer license and FINRA registration while you earn. Humana and regional credit unions across Louisville and Lexington regularly bring on financial service associates and client support representatives as stepping stones into advising roles. Candidates who complete pre-licensing coursework before applying and who have experience in retail banking, customer service, or sales will stand out immediately in Kentucky hiring processes.
Where can I find and apply to financial representative jobs in Kentucky?
You can find and apply to financial representative jobs in Kentucky on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kentucky openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
