Who's Hiring

Food Technologist Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a food technologist job in Columbus?
Target Columbus's food manufacturing and CPG companies clustered near Rickenbacker International Airport and the Easton business corridor, where production-scale roles are most active. Specializations in food safety, shelf-life testing, and reformulation carry the most weight with local employers. Familiarity with HACCP systems and experience working in a regulated production environment gives candidates a measurable edge in this market.
Which companies hire food technologists in Columbus?
Employers hiring food technologists in Columbus right now include The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Aramark, and Steritech, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus draws a mix of large food manufacturers, regional CPG brands, and ingredient and flavor suppliers that maintain R&D and quality assurance teams locally.
Are there remote food technologist jobs in Columbus?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the role, since most food technologist work requires hands-on lab access or production floor presence. About 50% of food technologist openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote arrangements most common for regulatory documentation, labeling compliance, and supplier quality coordination rather than formulation or sensory work.
How can I get a food technologist job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbus is a quality assurance technician or lab technician role at one of the city's food manufacturing facilities near Rickenbacker or on the west side industrial corridors. These positions build hands-on HACCP and sensory evaluation experience that Columbus employers treat as direct preparation for junior food technologist openings. A food science degree from Ohio State University carries strong local recognition and often leads directly to interviews with area producers.
