Functional Consultant Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a functional consultant in Georgia?
Functional consulting in Georgia does not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and platform credentials. Most Georgia employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, or a related discipline, followed by hands-on experience with a major ERP or CRM platform. Earning a vendor certification such as SAP Certified Application Associate or Salesforce Administrator is the clearest signal to Georgia hiring managers that you are ready to contribute from day one.
How much do functional consultants make in Georgia?
Functional consultants in Georgia earn a median of about $99,600 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,010 for the lowest 10% to over $172,850 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire functional consultants in Georgia?
Employers hiring functional consultants in Georgia right now include Itransition, Infosys, and Finastra, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of fintech firms, healthcare systems, and logistics companies creates consistent demand for consultants who can implement and optimize enterprise platforms across those industries.
Which Georgia cities have the most functional consultant jobs?
Atlanta, Georgia, and Sandy account for the largest share of functional consultant openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the majority of demand as the state's primary corporate hub, home to major technology, financial services, and healthcare employers, while Alpharetta's dense corridor of fintech and software companies adds significant volume, and Augusta's growing healthcare and government services sector contributes openings in adjacent markets.
Are there remote functional consultant jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Functional consulting is largely desk-based work involving requirements gathering, configuration, documentation, and virtual training, which makes remote and hybrid arrangements practical for many engagements. About 0% of functional consultant openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this field have adopted flexible working models. Implementation phases that require on-site presence are the most common exception to full-remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a functional consultant in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a business analyst, systems administrator, or operations coordinator role into a junior functional consultant position. Large Georgia employers such as NCR Atleos and Fiserv, along with consulting practices that serve Atlanta's financial services sector, regularly bring on associate consultants with analytical backgrounds and platform familiarity. Completing a free or low-cost vendor certification, such as Salesforce Administrator or SAP Activate, gives a Georgia candidate a concrete credential to point to when applying for entry-level implementation or support roles.
Where can I find and apply to functional consultant jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to functional consultant jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your platform experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
