We are uniquely equipped to treat all levels of injuries and illnesses from earaches to major traumas. We are the only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in the Denver Metro Area. Under general supervision, the professional nurse adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to provide care to all patients. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team to promote excellence in patient safety and quality outcomes. We understand the support needed for a new nurse to be successful. With this in mind, we offer a 12-month Nurse Residency Program that provides monthly education classes and hands-on clinical experiences, designed to ease the transition from student to practicing professional nurse. Our program builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in nursing education programs.
Essential Functions :
- Learn and execute all job functions as performed by a fully credentialled RN (50%)
- Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s condition and vital signs (5%)
- Develop and modify patient care plans as indicated by patient’s responses and conditions (5%)
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient’s responses and conditions (5%)
- Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care (5%)
- Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity (5%)
- Prepare patients for, and assist with examinations and treatments (5%)
- Assess the needs of individuals, families and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems (5%)
- Instruct individuals and families on health education and disease prevention and after care (5%)
- Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients (5%) Medication administration, documentation and reassessment (5%)
