Arabic Language Specialist Green Card Jobs
Arabic Language Specialist roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Federal agencies, defense contractors, and translation firms regularly file PERM applications for candidates with advanced Arabic proficiency and specialized subject-matter expertise.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Arabic Language Specialist
Verify your degree field before applying
PERM requires your employer to define a minimum education requirement for the role. A linguistics, Arabic studies, or translation degree maps cleanly to EB-2 eligibility, while unrelated degrees may push your case to EB-3 skilled worker classification instead.
Target federal contractors with security clearances
Defense and intelligence contractors frequently sponsor Arabic Language Specialists because qualified U.S. citizens are scarce. Look for employers already enrolled in E-Verify, which signals active federal contracting and a familiarity with employment-based sponsorship paperwork.
Search for employers using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter for employers with active EB-2 and EB-3 green card filing history for language and linguistics roles, so you're not guessing which organizations will sponsor before you invest time in an application.
Document dialect specialization in your credentials
PERM job descriptions often specify a dialect, such as Modern Standard Arabic, Egyptian, or Levantine. Gather certificates, performance reviews, or government-issued language test results that match the dialect your prospective employer names in the PERM filing.
Understand the EB-3 priority date before accepting an offer
If your country of birth has an EB-3 backlog, your green card wait could extend years beyond your I-140 approval. Check the USCIS Visa Bulletin for your chargeability country before accepting a PERM-based offer to assess realistic timelines.

Find Arabic Language Specialist JobsArabic Language Specialist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Arabic Language Specialist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories apply depending on the position and your credentials. EB-2 covers Arabic Language Specialist roles requiring a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience in a specialized area such as legal or intelligence translation. EB-3 covers roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree or two years of training. Your employer's PERM job description determines which category fits.
How does the PERM green card process differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status, so there's no two- or three-year renewal cycle. It also has no annual lottery, unlike H-1B. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification plus I-140 adjudication typically takes one to two years before you even reach adjustment of status, and priority date backlogs can add more time depending on your country of birth.
Which employers sponsor green cards for Arabic Language Specialists?
Federal agencies, defense contractors, intelligence community vendors, translation and localization firms, and large law firms with international practices are the most consistent sponsors. Many also hold federal contracts requiring E-Verify enrollment, which correlates with experience navigating employment-based sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to identify employers with documented EB-2 and EB-3 filing history specifically for language and linguistics roles.
Can my employer use my dialect specialization to justify EB-2 classification?
Yes. If the position genuinely requires an advanced degree and specialized knowledge of a particular Arabic dialect, such as Levantine or Gulf Arabic for intelligence analysis, the employer can structure the PERM job requirements to support EB-2. The key is that the degree and specialization requirement must reflect the actual job duties, not be inflated solely to improve visa category eligibility.
What happens to my green card case if I change jobs during the process?
If your I-140 has been approved for more than 180 days, you may be able to port your priority date and EB classification to a new employer in a same or similar occupational role under AC21 portability rules. Arabic Language Specialist roles often qualify because the SOC classification remains consistent across federal and private sector positions, but your new employer will need to file a new PERM or I-140 to continue sponsorship.
