Green Card Asset Manager Jobs
Asset Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Portfolio management, institutional investment, and real estate asset management roles regularly clear this bar, making direct permanent residency sponsorship achievable without lottery risk.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Asset Manager
Align your credentials with EB-2 requirements
A master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field positions you for EB-2 classification. If you hold a bachelor's plus five or more years of progressive asset management experience, document that progression carefully before your employer files the PERM application.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Asset management firms that have previously sponsored foreign professionals through PERM already have established legal processes and in-house or retained immigration counsel. Prioritize those employers early in your job search rather than introducing the sponsorship conversation cold.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter asset management roles by green card sponsorship history using Migrate Mate. This surfaces firms that have actively filed PERM applications for investment professionals, saving you from pursuing roles at companies with no prior sponsorship infrastructure.
Verify prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your specific role and location before PERM certification is granted. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the applicable wage level for Asset Manager roles in your target city before negotiations close.
Clarify the PERM job description during offer negotiation
The PERM application locks in a specific job description that must match your actual duties. Ask your employer to define the role requirements narrowly around your credentials so USCIS reviewers see a clean alignment between your qualifications and the sponsored position.
File I-140 concurrently to protect your priority date
Once PERM is certified, push your employer to file the I-140 immigrant petition promptly. Your green card priority date is set at I-140 filing, not at PERM approval, and earlier filing gives you more flexibility if you change employers using AC21 portability.
Green Card Asset Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Asset Manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Asset Manager positions typically qualify for both EB-2 and EB-3 depending on the employer's requirements. If the role requires a master's degree or equivalent advanced credentials, EB-2 applies. Roles requiring a bachelor's degree with relevant experience generally qualify under EB-3. Your employer defines the minimum requirements in the PERM application, so that language directly determines which category applies to you.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for an Asset Manager?
H-1B visa sponsorship is temporary and subject to an annual lottery, while PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no cap concerns at the EB-3 level for most countries. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status can take two to four years or longer depending on your country of birth, compared to H-1B approval in a few months. Green card sponsorship also requires the employer to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker was available for the role.
What does the PERM process require from Asset Manager candidates?
PERM requires your employer to conduct a supervised recruitment process and document that no qualified U.S. applicant was available for the position. For Asset Manager roles, the DOL scrutinizes job requirements closely, so your employer must ensure the posted requirements genuinely reflect the role rather than being written to exclude domestic candidates. USCIS then reviews the I-140 petition that follows, which is where your individual qualifications are assessed.
How do I find Asset Manager jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Search for employers with verified PERM filing history in investment management, real estate, and institutional finance. Migrate Mate lets you filter Asset Manager roles by green card sponsorship history, surfacing firms that have actively sponsored foreign professionals through PERM rather than companies with no prior sponsorship track record. This narrows your search to employers already equipped to navigate the process.
Can I change employers after my green card process has started?
Yes, once your I-140 is approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days, AC21 portability lets you move to a new employer in a same or similar occupational role without restarting the green card process. For Asset Managers, a move from one portfolio management role to a comparable one at a different firm generally qualifies, but your new employer and immigration counsel should confirm the roles are sufficiently similar before you transition.
